while I'd really like to have built upon a base of Tiny and TMG - we can lose them AND WW and still be MUCH MUCH better next year.

MUCH better.

This year should have been a prime example for everyone how talent swirls down the damn crapper without some effort and teamwork.

you put together effort and teamwork with much less talent and you get more success than we came close to sniffing this season.

GOOD FRICKING RIDDANCE to them. OU basketball will move on and be better for a long time after their 2 seasons of paltry NBDL stats are little more than vague internet memories.

doesn't matter. after this "cacophony of egocentrism" coach will get 5 together who will actually try and we will be in much better shape.

Moe? Moe Dampeer?

No spin will make me feel any better tonight. I'm sick about all this.

Wow. I usually agree with you but not on this one. OU basketball will not be better without TMG and Tiny. Not next season, and imo, not the couple seasons after next.

Somebody let me know when this nightmare is over....

Seriously.. better next year with what ? 5 scholarship players ?

are you not watching the same NCAA tournament that I am? we could put 5 intramurals guys on the floor and if they played together and went all out then we'd probably be better than we were this year.

you dont hafta have the talent those 2 possess in order to have success. it all starts with putting forth the effort for the team.

This isn't freaking Hoosiers (and do we even have anyone as comparatively good as Jimmy Chitwood anyway?). We might be better off as a "team" and as "Oklahoma" but we won't be better in the win-loss column.

Going into this season, we all thought TMG and Tiny would be back, but WW would be gone. I think it would be kind of interesting if TMG and Tiny were gone, but WW comes back.

PG - Juco PG (Carter or West) - Junior
SG - Willie Warren - Junior
SF - Cade Davis - Senior
PF - Andrew Fitzgerald - Soph
C - Orlando Allen - Senior

That would sure be a lot more experienced lineup than we had with 4 frosh this year.

I dont necessarily believe that. It may be true, but IMO it's not a certainty.

we CAN be more palatable, rep the school better, and perhaps improve on the record. either way I'd rather go that direction than put up with this bullcrap.

You forgot to add TJ Taylor and Cameron Clark to the list

Being better in the win-loss column means a record of 14 and 18. I don't think it's that big of a stretch to say that's possible.

Being an actual good basketball team may be another story altogether.

We have had starting fives with zero all americans that have won conference titles, been to the final four, win 25+ games and we will have it once again.

I was just trying to make a starting lineup. But a bench of Taylor, Clark and Pledger might be deeper than this year's bench. Hopefully Capel signs a juco big man to add to that group.

I agree that getting rid of all the bad apples could make us better. I have watched a lot of NCAA tourney teams that are pretty good teams, but don't have 3 players as talented as TMG, Tiny and WW. But they play as a team, so they win 20+ games.

Good point. I had kind of forgot about that. We'll probably be playing at Arkansas, at Arizona, and also in the Maui though. That's a bit rough.

Our program will be much better off once the cancers are removed. I don't know for sure who they are, but I can guarantee there are some on this team. To be great you have to put in hard work and want to do it. The true greats want to do well and make the team better. Look at AD, he is the most gifted football player/athlete I have seen in years and everyone said he was the hardest worker as well. You can throw BG in that category as well.

I don't see why we can't have all those things and a few all americans in the rotation.

I really don't see why everyone is so gung-ho about tossing out some pretty talented guys. Sure, they struggled this year and looked pretty lazy when they lost, but isn't a better scenario if these guys were to return with the right attitude. I have been a vocal supporter of TMG, and will remain so whatever his choice. Sure, he may very well have had one foot out the door all year, but none of us know the kid and what his personal situation is(i.e. financial concerns in his family). Losing TMG and Tiny would hurt us(IMHO), but I'm not willing to shut the door on any of these guys.
