Marcus Foster out at KSU

He'll end up at a mid-major, I bet. High-caliber schools don't need to take a risk on the guy who has talent but thinks he's a point guard and is not.

That was basically the rub with he and Weber. Foster wanted to run the show and Weber, to his credit, wouldn't let him.

It's never this simple, but his two biggest shots this season basically cost us a Big 12 title.

If I never hear the name Marcus Foster again, I will be just fine.

I could see him ending up at a lower - performing school in a power conference the way Marshall Henderson ended up at Mississippi. I could see Bruce Pearl taking a flyer on him at Auburn, for instance.

I have no inside information, but I would be genuinely surprised if Foster getting the boot at KSU was not drug related. I don't think Weber – or most any other coach, for that matter – kicks a player of Foster's caliber off the team simply because the coach and player don't see eye-to-eye on how that player is used.

This is the post I referenced earlier in this thread. It was made last month when Marcus was serving a three games suspension. "Sys" is a longtime poster here and a K-State fan. Notice the head in the quoted portion of his post is titled "Second Positive Test."

Quote:
Second Positive Test
Notification of the results will be made to the designated University counselor, the student athlete, the Director of Sports Medicine and/or his designee, the Director of Athletics, Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, the appropriate sport administrator, the team physician, the appropriate head coach, and the immediate supervisor for Sports Medicine. The student athlete will be notified by the Director of Athletics or appropriate sport administrator of an immediate suspension from the next 10% of a team’s scheduled regular-season competition. The suspension shall be no less than 1 competition but not exceed 10% of a team’s scheduled regular season competition (See Table 2). If the suspension can not be completed during the current competitive season, it will be carried over to the next season of competition.
