Marcus Smart has upped his game in the NBA

His flops are so obvious and frequent, that I think it speaks to a lack of coaching integrity from Travis Ford and now Brad Stevens... I would bench his ass for an entire game every time he does that, and make it perfectly clear that this sort of cheating, and that is exactly what it is, is not welcome or acceptable.

This video of Mark Mangino comes to mind when I think of crap like this:

People don't coach like this anymore, but you know what, Mangino was right in this case... Brad Stevens should get after Smart in a similar fashion for this BS. It's a disgrace to the game.

I think Dirk Nowitzki is worse. Every single play he flails as if he has been beaten and yells and wines as he goes down the court. Both offense and defense. Every. Single. Play.

Pfffft, back in Dirk's prime opponents beat the **** out of Dirk... He has to be one of the most fouled players of all time. People are constantly trying to shove him and stop him from getting that fade-away off...

Marcus Smart is just a cheating little b!tch.

Lol. Coming from a guy who presumably cheers for Russell Westbrook...

Huh? I strongly dislike pretty much everything about Russell Westbrook.

EDIT: Oh, I see you weren't talking to me. Carry on.

Smart's performance isnt Oscar worthy or even for honorable mention but should be left on the cutting room floor.

lol.....there are rules in place to punish flopping. I don't like it, but the Smart hate around here is ridiculous.

He just got done carrying Boston thru the second half of the 4th quarter in a comeback win vs Atlanta. 20 points, 8 boards, and 5 assists. Off the bench. And also started locking down Milsap late in the game. Milsap is an all-star caliber PF, btw.

Who were the morons saying that Smart would be out of the NBA in a few years (when he was drafted)? That little prediction is looking really, really bad right now.

Oh, for pete's sake, step down from your pulpit. I'd like, just once, to see you get that riled up in defense of a Sooner player.

That flop was so ridiculous, it blew up on the internet. No one said anything about Smart's general play in this thread, and considering the absurd level of hype on his behalf that we had to endure the entire time he was in Stillwater, we're entitled to mock him a little bit for one of the silliest flops in the history of basketball.

I am a Celtics fan FYI. Don't know where the Westbrook stuff came from... And I agree with you that the smart flop was ridiculous. I was just making a correlation about someone else who is flopping throughout the playoffs, albeit less dramatically.

This would be a fine thread for the NBA forum.

Do it, Mods!
