Buckeyes giving the Terps all they want. 57-53, Maryland, with 3 minutes to go.

Maryland is very good. They're potentially a Final 4 team and would give us fits. I could see us playing them in the Elite 8 if they don't get a #1 seed.

If they are 5 they won't be playing OU assuming things stay where they are.

If they play up to their ability, we shouldn't see them until the final 4.

Like you, I think Maryland is very good team with potential to make a deep run. However, their resume up to this point is very average. They just got their first RPI top-50 win last week (Iowa). Their non-conference schedule wasn't very strong. They lost to the only good team that they played (UNC) and their best OOC win was Princeton (#63). They will have chances to improve their SOS/quality wins as go through the Big 10, but as of right now their resume screams 3-seed.

Exactly. There's a reason why their RPI/BPI and KenPom ratings are hovering around 9 instead of closer to the top 4. They scheduled similarly last year and it's why they wound up as the 4 seed in Kentucky's bracket even though they were 27-6.

And just watching them this year, they remind me some of Kelvin Sampson's teams in that can go through some really bad offensive droughts. They have the talent to make a deep run, but I think one of those droughts will cost them in March.
