Bobby Knight says he loves them because they don't have to go to class the second semester. He later apologized, of course, which proves he has grown soft and ball-less now that he is a TV sports analyst.

What Knight should have done is repeat what he said about Calipari in 2009:

"You got a coach at Kentucky that put two schools on probation," Knight said. "The University of Massachusetts and Memphis State, and he's still coaching."

If Coach Cal was involved in this Fox Sports investigative report, "Ex-Kentucky staff broke NCAA rules," he may be well on his way to putting his third school on probation.

Cal is the ultimate "message board" coach, great recruiting classes that please the fan base, nothing really to show for them.

Last six years: Elite Eight, Eight Eight, National Runner-up, Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight and Final Four.

That's pretty solid. A free throw away from winning a national title.

I thought this year was Coach Cal's "first" final four?

i don't get liggins. he may be a good defender, but the only time teams draft for defense is when a guy is seven feet tall.

it would have been nice to see knight stay and get his degree two years from now. the nba isn't lacking for point guards, and all we heard about was how smart and advanced he was.

The fact Kentucky hired Cal shows that even "Blue Bloods" get desperate. I'm glad we didn't go that route even though I am not the biggest fan of the route we chose.

How many of them count?

Like I said, if I was a UK fan I'd be excited every year because they are bringing a fresh group of the Top 25 players in the country and they'll generally have at least a few guys that are coming back that are pretty good too. That said, with all those first round picks, including #1 picks, he still hasn't won a championship...and there is a strong chance that at some point he is going to land thier school in some serious hot water. They probably don't care though.

Thats what I was thinking Ada. I surprisingly agree with some of Knight's views concerning the state of college basketball and I am not a Calipari fan. That said, his newest statement jabs at players as well as Cal. He makes an ignorant statement about some people he does not know. I have know idea what kind of students Kentucky's athletes are. Maybe a good portion of them went to class with acceptable GPAs. His point about 2 former schools on probation is clear enough and he should have reiterated and expanded on that.

I'm no Cal supporter by any means, but as I can recall, he has not been indicted on one charge by the NCAA. Camby was with improper benefits from an agent and Rose's SAT score was in question...the NCAA informed Calipari in both instances he was not at risk.

There is a lot of Cal hate going around, but besides being a good recruiter, he can coach as well. Making the move from their dribble drive motion offense to the dribble handoff midseason was a great move.
