MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

I had heard somewhere (might have been here) that Pedulla wanted to "come home" because he had a sick loved one (his father, I thought). Waco's closer to Edmond than Virginia, but not all that close.
I heard that too. But he probably also wants money and a shot at making a run in the tourney. Baylor can almost guarantee those two things while OU cannot.

Could we stop with the RIP nonsense? Baylor, to name just one example, went 38 years without an NCAA tourney appearance and then, having been once in 1988, they experienced another 20-year drought. Put another way: When they made the tourney in 2008, they'd been just once in the previous 58 years. Now they're one of the better programs in the country.

Yeah the agony in here is laughable and tiresome

Even if we land a less than stellar class it’s a win win

Either porter turns them into a tourney team and starts gaining momentum or we miss the tourney and he’s gone

Uhm, do you think anyone has actually suggested that OU should cease playing basketball? I know sarcasm is sometimes hard to detect in written form, but it seems pretty clear in this context.

If you're suggesting that everyone who's used the term RIP (or something similar) is actually quite optimistic about the program's prospects and is poking fun at those who are on the doom and gloom side, you're kidding yourself. That might--might--apply to a couple of posters.

If what you meant is that everyone's feeling pretty gloomy but some are intentionally overstating the despair for humorous effect, that's not sarcasm. And if this is what you meant, I'm confident it still doesn't apply to everyone I was addressing.

So to recap, Moser has/or will lose three home grown portal guys with no replacements in sight.

I’ve tried to be patient with the guy, but this is not heading in a good direction.

If Moore leaves, it’s really all over.

I'm not going to panic over losing a player of Pedulla's caliber (if that's what happens). We really need a player like him, but guys like him are abundant in the portal. Going 0/3 on OK prep pitches would be devastating, though. It sounds like all gave us a fair shot.

Ped has ZERO chance of making it pro in the NBA. So I kind of understand why he said one more pay day>>>>.

Per OSU board late last night:

LOGAN - "It sounds like BG is staying"
Thing2 - "This is confirmed, you were right Logan. Number is heavy too"

Thing 1 - "Don’t think Garrison is coming back"
LOGAN - "I've been told from someone with direct knowledge of the OU talks, and thats where he'd play"
Thing 1 - "I don't know if BG goes to OU, but I still don't think he comes back"
LOGAN - "Well it was OU or us"
Thing 1 - "Not sure on that, I think Texas is still an option"

LOGAN - "Again I have direct knowledge of what's going on from someone who has direct knowledge of what's going on"
Thing 2 - "It's us or ou, if ou is at 600, coach went to see bg last night got offer up to 400 i believe"
LOGAN - "It's always been us or OU"
Thing 2 - "Texas was a school I heard too"
LOGAN - "He wasn't going to Texas"
Thing 2 - "Logan I hope we get him"
LOGAN - "Just wait"

Sounds like Logan thinks he is in the know, but I feel like he is more of an extremely low budget, indie, white trash StoopsBros.

Also, don't make me go back there, I feel dumber for it.

Step one: get a coach who squeezes every ounce of talent out of his guys.
As I've said many times, that has to be the key. We're getting talent on campus. I really don't see how anybody can deny that. HS recruiting rankings. Portal recruiting rankings. The fact that some of the kids that are transferring out of OU are going places like North Carolina, Virginia, and Houston.

We easily have the talent on paper to accomplish what I would be happy accomplishing. But we don't have a coach that can get those expected results out of those players.
