That sounds like a disaster.OSU plans to take both.

Not be a terrible in-game coach. Not play an offensive system that is painful to watch and doesn't maximize the strengths of his players. Not wait till late Feb. to start our best player. Not waste a year of development for his highest rated recruit. Not narrow in on a few portal targets and then be left with no obvious plan B. Not print shirts with "DCO" and then play a passive defense even though guys like Waldo, Moore, and Oweh had more than enough talent and athleticism to, you know, actually create offense from defense.
Having a list of wants isn't the same as actually doing a good job of identifying the best fits for those wants and getting them on campus to visit. And working around the clock -- I think most coaches work hard. Some just work better/smarter than others.Every once in a while, I agree with you.
But you contribute so much to the board, how can I possibly not reply to such brilliance?Don't respond to my posts crybaby.
We were discussing signing Garrison, and how PM could make that happen.
So go cry in your pillow alone.
Really? When do they plan on having them visit?Yall that think we don't have other players in the plan are crazy too. Need to step away from the edge of insanity
Again, just because it isn't blasted on social media doesn't mean pedulla and BG are the only targets. I'm sure the coaching staff has a long list of wants and are meeting around the clock on buiklding the roster
Agree with you there may be plenty of other targets. And just because we don't know about them, doesn't mean there aren't interactions going back and forth.Yall that think we don't have other players in the plan are crazy too. Need to step away from the edge of insanity

Well I wasn't addressing you so and I never said having a list is the same as doing a good jobHaving a list of wants isn't the same as actually doing a good job of identifying the best fits for those wants and getting them on campus to visit. I don't know and I don't careReally? When do they plan on having them visit?
I get most of what happens takes place behind the scenes, but we’re seeing almost nothing that inspires confidence.
I definitely agree that Wade would actually have probably 3 to 4, maybe even all 5 spots filled because he can close on kids in the portal. He's doing it at McNeese State now and won 22 games there. Granted, level of play is different but got that team in the tournament. The guy wanted back in the SEC and was fighting to get the Arkansas job until they pulled Cal from Kentucky. Whoever in C&C or in the compliance department reading the numbers for NIL are off based on what the market is. OU, now, have lost 3 guys, potentially 4 because Moser couldn't close out a vision of the team and the NIL numbers aren't where they need to be.
Again, who is disputing that they want to win? I see this all the time -- "he wants to win so he clearly will make decisions that he thinks give him the best chance to succeed and keep his job." No one is suggesting he that wants to do a crappy job. We are saying that he IS doing a crappy job.Well I wasn't addressing you so and I never said having a list is the same as doing a good job
But if anyone thinks that the only activity the coaches are doing is visible on social media, I think that is crazy.
And it is crazy to think a d1 coaching staff doesn't have more resources and hours put into forming this roster than fans on a message board.
And it is crazy to think the staff is fine with mediocrity
I'd guarantee that the staff wants to win worse than we want them to win
Agreed. Donating to build a facility forever (often with naming recognition) is vastly different than paying some mercenary for 1 season. And it is prolly AT LEAST 50% that the player will portal again away at some point too. Its a joke. It will be funny when viewers quit caring/watching (like me even) and the profits dry up and the donors quit donating for rentals and the sports collapses from its own weight.Am I wrong thinking that this type of $$$ being thrown around can't last? I just don't see how donors can keep spending this type of money just to see their college field a team.
Ratings are only going up since NIL started. For every person who quits watching (or threatens to quit), many more are jumping on board.Agreed. There are those basically calling the staff out as lazy and not putting in the work needed...all because it isn't blasted over social media.Again, who is disputing that they want to win? correlation without causation...or whatever the phrase is.Ratings are only going up since NIL started. For every person who quits watching (or threatens to quit), many more are jumping on board.
I read that more as people questioning whether he is doing an effective job of reaching out to players and suggesting that he might not be in tune with the best way to recruit the portal. There are those basically calling the staff out as lazy and not putting in the work needed...all because it isn't blasted over social media.
To me that is equivelent of saying he doesn't really care about winning or doing a good job
Put me in the bucket of it can't last. For a variety of reasons. Something will give eventually. I'm just not sure when that eventually is.Agreed. But there is absolutely NO evidence that the popularity of college sports is decreasing, even though some people don't like NIL or the portal.correlation without causation...or whatever the phrase is.
There isn't really a sound reason of what NIL has to do with viewership
But you contribute so much to the board, how can I possibly not reply to such brilliance?
As for Garrison -- funny how many times the narrative changes. I thought OSU was one of the only places people would admit has worse NIL than us. Now money is being tossed in as possible reason we may lose him?
Not yet. Just a matter of time though. But there is absolutely NO evidence that the popularity of college sports is decreasing, even though some people don't like NIL or the portal.
