MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Yeah, maybe Cooper isn't any good and needed to be processed, but he was one one of the few glimmers of hope for next season. I hope he's not the transfer, but I'm resigned to it.
That’s my mindset.

Nah...WS and his gang have been very pro Cooper.
I don't think it is as much of liking Cooper and his potential but more so they are the opposite of anything PM does.

He said positive things while Cooper was on the bench, much like with Oweh last year. Unsurprisingly, he turned on Oweh as soon as he got playing time. He had absolutely nothing positive to say about Cooper last offseason. Much like Moore and Soares. There was nobody with a lower opinion.

I’m not happy with Porter at all, but he’s a college basketball coach with three decades of experience.

He played Maks over Cooper when we were desperate. That told me everything I needed to know.

Different positions, but there were minutes to be had. Cooper got none of them. Again, very telling.

I mean last offseason is last offseason. WS has been pro Cooper, Soares, and Moore during the season.
No reason to hold offseason opinions against anyone

Are we really rationalizing losing one of our most athletic players with a ceiling over the moon when we’ve barely moved the needle in the portal so far? If this happens it’s a disaster and there’s no sugar-coating it.
I mean, sure?

Just trying to see the why, I guess.

I'd prefer Cooper to stay. I get why he'd leave though and I get why Moser (who I'm not taking up for) would need/want what he'd describe as more immediate help.

Agree, plenty of ready-now players in the portal that are better than him. Getting rid of him gives you the opportunity to go get Jordan Ivy Curry, a solid center, and then a good combo guard/small forward to give you good depth to the roster.

I am about the biggest Moser hater on here and I agree with this.

Cooper may be very good year 3 and 4 but there’s no reason to expect him to do too much next year wherever he goes. And Moser needs impact players NOW.

Now whether Moser can get an impact player or two is entirely another question.

But do you actually think we'll do that? That's the key here.

If Porter wants to save his job he needs to get JIC, Ugonna and VAL. Otherwise, he’s cooked.

This ranking/formula has Jalon at #103. I think we all know his odds of being drafted/going through with it are low, just posting for further proof (grain of salt, just one guy's list).

Top 60 recruit and dudes on here act like we can afford to lose him. It blows me away. Legit chance he starts next year if he takes any leap at all.
