MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

For what it's worth, I frequently find myself at odds with articulating my thoughts. The multitude of active applications often diverts my attention. I draft a single sentence and then find myself ensnared in the alluring web of social media – a cycle of Twitter, Discord, and back again – only to lose the thread of my initial intention.

I am unequivocally convinced that the optimal outcome would be for Richmond to join OU. On the theoretical level, the pairing of Richmond and Miles promises to be a distinguished combination.

It was my intention to suggest a strategic incentive for Richmond, contingent upon his decision not to choose OU. Should he consider an institution like St. John's, the prudent course of action would be to shift focus toward securing the most promising Center/Power Forward available, along with another potential candidate for starting guard, whose identity remains to be determined.

In the event that OU succeeds in recruiting Richmond, I maintain the stance that there exist superior alternatives for the Center/Power Forward position than Reeves, potentially with similar financial implications. This is simply my own perspective. I am quite comfortable in adopting a contrarian viewpoint, particularly regarding the discourse surrounding Reeves. It is not uncommon for me to adopt a stance that diverges from the prevailing consensus.

AI off.

I meant to say, "Offer the Kadary bag to...", if he doesn't choose OU. I'm definitely in favor of adding Richmond. And if they do, I think they can do better than Reeves even if they're looking for A) a backup B) cheaply.

Don't ever AI again... Lol

But I think we all understood what you meant (were trying to say in the long post)

Also, Custer following a male counterpart... that must be something then...

I can't send charts through DMs apparently, so sorry for the lames people who don't like facts charts.

Also looking at the starting rosters from last year (end) to this year (temp-start).
(This also assumes no improvement or regression from Godwin/Moore + Kadary commitment):

In all honesty to me, it looks like they are just putting options together and gauging interest for potential visits next weekend? If that’s the case, there may be three or four or five guys they reach out to this week depending on the money available at that point.

OU MBB picked up an interesting new follow.

She has a private account. For now, I can't see her other follows.

Kind of odd because it feels like JIC is now a backup option or maybe a fallback option. And it seems like Kansas is interested to some degree and Auburn may pivot to JIC now that Miles picked OU.

Possibly OU hedging? Whoever jumps first sort of situation?

I'm probably in the minority (and I'm ok with that), but I'd just as soon we never paid a player a million dollars. It seems like the first step onto a very slippery slope. It's not as though we're one player away from being contenders for a national title (and even if we were, I'd have my reservations). If a player is truly deserving of that kind of money, he should be in the NBA.

It's usually never as much as they say it is. For the football DT OU got it was closer to 700k than 7 figures like was rumored and OU got him.

That’s not true. It was $1 million, maybe a little more. Your sources are either lying to you or they’re just wrong.

Most of the numbers are inflated but OU paid big for the DT and held off offers from other SEC schools.

I agree with you. We aren’t one player away from anything. For this particular offseason, I’d be fine with getting who we can without wasting a lot of money. We should be able to field a tourney team without breaking the bank.

It was closer to market value. Texas was 2nd highest bid at 700k and it was only slightly higher than Texas' bid so I'm guessing 800k.

With Deivon Smith heading to St. John's, I find it hard to believe they can land Kadary Richmond too. Any intel on the situation @StoopsBros on if we might have the upper hand? Thanks!
@notaburner can chime in with the latest OU-sided inside info, if he's around/knows. I don't know anything yet myself.

This morning Trilly said this (SIAP)...

Of course, that was earlier today while Richmond is/was in Norman (no idea when he's leaving)...so much depends on the bag, right? And if Kadary liked the rest of the visit (Moser's overall pitch/playing & living in Norman/etc).

I will say, St. John's is in a similar position as OU. They want to feature Smith and Richmond. 1a, 1b. OU would do the same with Miles/Richmond, obviously.

Looking at this chart, they'd slide Wilcher to 2nd team, put Smith at the starting 1...then slide the frosh down at the 2 & put Richmond there. Dillon Mitchell or Jamir Watkins, maybe, would fill their last spot (PF).

Looks like we will find out from Trilly or other schools on Kadary (notaburner withstanding) bc apparently softball is happening... *eyeroll*
Yep. The number 1 player in the portal is on our campus and our beat just isn’t covering it. It’s beyond annoying. We got updates every 3 hours for the last 2 weeks on the DT. Bob has yet to post a single basketball related thing on scoop today. Just insane.

That’s simply not true. Your $9.95 sources are wrong.
Okay then OU is stupid for paying more than they had to.

These NILs at these schools talk to each other to make sure players/agents aren't lying. Trust me the number isn't over a Million.

Lusk is getting the cold shoulder from the Richmond camp. That doesn't sound good.
