That is stupid. Furthermore, how does it show you the speed of the game.

It amazes how many really stupid people have good jobs and get to make horrible decisions like this.

I'm glad they gave something new a shot. It obviously didn't work well enough to continue, but innovation has a trial and error component. One of the rare time I'll side with ESPN on something.

Not terribly wise to experiment with a national audience watching. They could have some focus groups, showing games covered in this fashion to sports fans and getting their feedback. Seems likely the feedback would have been overwhelmingly negative, and they could have avoided having egg on their faces.
