Much of Hield's future is in his hands | Norman Transcipt

I like how Kruger said "if he's going to be a lottery pick or something like that it becomes a lot easier for him." Haha seems like he thinks the same as everyone else. He needs to stay. Sure hope he does. But everyone has their reasons.

Buddy really needs another year of college but if he decides to go I wish him the best of luck.

I really like the fact that he said he's going to trust the coaches. Whether he really does or not I guess remains to be seen. But I don't think Lon is the type of guy that is going to be selfish and tell him to stay, if he really believes Buddy can't improve his stock.

It's not about draft position IF all the talk before the season even started about him almost certainly being gone were true. IF that talk was true, it's simply a guy that is done with college, and knows at worst he can make a good living playing overseas. Nobody before the season had him projected to go high enough to warrant him leaving, if that were his reason.

I think he's just done with school. Wants out. Which is odd, b/c Buddy really seemed to me like the kind of kid that would be more likely to come back and finish his 4th year, than to leave early for anything but a top 10 type guarantee. College seems to "fit" him.

This is a ton of speculation that doesn't align with anything we've come to know about buddy's personality.

Fair enough. But it's also speculation that has been "supported" by a couple of posters on this board who's words are treated as gold.

Can't have it both ways.

I personally hope Buddy stays. I don't think he is much of an NBA player whether he leaves this year or next. And I'm not sure one extra year of playing overseas is worth losing the memories of what could be a special senior season. But I'm biased.

It would seem a bit odd if he just wants to get out of school. Didn't he make Big 12 All-Academic first team? Seems like a fairly bright, hardworking guy.
