My Nightmare Announcing Crew

Quite a nightmare! I heard Walton a week or so ago doing a UCLA game, of all games, and last night doing an Arizona game(where his son played) and it was mind numbing! Can't imagine him with Doris!

I'm watching the OU-Tech game right now, and Reid Gettys will give any bad announcer a run for their money.

Walton was trying to use dry sarcasm in the Arizona game, and he's terrible at it. He sounds half serious most of the time, and it either comes across as creepy or offensive. That guy just needs to hang it up and smoke some pot.

Him and Lou Holtz speak with the most spit in their mouth!! where your worried the other guy will drown if it spills out

I don't know what we did to Mr. Getys, but he never seems to have a good thing to say about us. Walton just seems over the top arrogant to me.

He spoke very highly of the Sooners on Saturday, actually -- especially Osby. But he was still annoying.

Walton is definitely an acquired taste. Personally I think he is a fun listen.

I felt like I deserved a medal or something for listening to Gettys through a whole broadcast. First time all season I considered putting the TV on mute and turning the radio on. Everybody's "as good as any (insert skill or position here) in the game."

His scolding players and playing coach also drives me up the wall. He's the Ed Hightower of announcing.

Tech game stupid things said, I paraphrase but will put it in quotes anyway.

"Kansas is the best team in the country right now."

"Osby wanted goal tend on that play, no way it was goal tending." (After replay) "Well, that actually was goal tending. The officials really missed that one."

Every game has that sort of stuff in it.
