Are we even in on any quality post players in the late signing period?

Alex Kirk, 7-0 fourth-year junior from New Mexico, might be on the market. He gets his degree this semester. And although I haven't heard any specific rumors, he might be "looking."

That would cause a major panic here in Albuquerque if he left, and they'd probably scream bloody murder if he came to OU. When Kelvin was beating Fraschilla on recruits, right and left, in the early 2000's, the locals were convinced that OU was buying them. :facepalm

Now this is something I could get excited about. He's a little plodding but he's skilled and a good shot blocker and space filler. There would be a lot of schools after him.

Understandably lots of angst regarding our inside size and how to solve it but it only makes sense to defer to Lon and Co in that if they knew of an instant difference maker inside he'd be all over them. It's not like he didn't recognize our needs when you see all 3 of our recruits are 6 7 and up.

Also Lon is pretty experienced in going the JUCO route in his past, with only 1 guy graduating next year we can't afford to mortgage anything in the future for projects, just in the past couple years we've gotten burned so bad going this route.

As fans it's hard to take the long term view especially at this time of the year (which I admittedly am very guilty of) but it's hard to question our staff's ability to build a team.
