I hope it's true.
Some may criticise his inability to be successful at TCU. Other than Tubbs, who has been successful there?
An assistant job is very different from a HC job anyway. He can focus on locating and recruiting talent and working with the current players without being the "face" of the program and handling all the BS that comes with that.
We already know Capel is a recruiting force (evaluating may need some work, but no question he has gotten his share of the kids he has wanted). Kids who come here come to play for Capel, not the assistants.
So what we need is a guy who knows basketball, can help kids mature, both on and off the court, and can help Jeff evaluate what players a really worth the recruiting effort. I think, given the short window we have to replace assistants, a guy like this is a grand slam. I mean, what do some people expect at this point? We could use as many guys like this as we can find.
