one of the surprising things from last night IMHO is how well MO handled the press and the running of the team in his limited PG roll ..


this allows OU to be better on D and stay with a bigger lineup in the non goldwire min ...

I like cortes a lot but knowing that Mo can handle this roll is something good to know to close out this season

Mo came to OU to be more of a point guard, I believe. He hasn't really done it much, but I think it's OU best option at this point, with Cortes out. Mason just not ready yet.
 
With Mo at the point it also adds another scoring option to the line up. Having a PG that doesn’t score can have a negative impact.

Well it would add another scoring option if we had a guard other than him that could score.

This obviously depends on the system....I've coached HS and college basketball for 21 years and I've never preferred a PG who is a scoring PG. I look more for a floor general type who distributes.
 
Gibson needs to play more PH and Cortes needs to sit. I think Cortes will be good, but he is getting pushed around in the big 12.
