New Coach

The Indiana job will be open. They owe us for taking Sampson. Moser would be a great fit for them.
This reminds me, in that column I posted about UNC, he mentioned several coaches who made a FF but clearly didn’t have very good careers. Mike Davis was one. That FF game in 2002 is second to only the 88 title game on my list of games I wish we could get a mulligan for.

This list of coaches in that article really does illustrate that getting hot and making one run to a FF doesn’t necessarily mean someone is a good, let alone great, coach.

OU can't afford his and BVs buyouts. So it's one or the other.

Joe C. sucks so bad, i don't want him touching anything with the next round of coaches. He's terrible, and time has passed him by.
My hope is that Moser just takes a new job at the end of the season. Or resigns. I agree, we can’t trust Joe C anymore.

if only Q White didn't get hurt at the end of the Mizzou game :(

Dan Dakich actually floated Porter's name for the Indiana job this morning on X.

Indiana should be able to do a lot better. But can they? The expectations there are sky high, and Purdue is operating at a much higher level today.

He got hurt in practice a coupe days before the FF. You’re thinking of Hollis the next year in the Big 12 title game. That was the ugliest championship game ever, seemed like we didn’t score the entire second half but hung on for the third straight title!

I had forgotten about that play but I have always heard Sampson and the players talk about the issue being an injury that happened in Atlanta in practice. Some people (fools, IMO) have even complained that the team shouldn't have been practicing just a couple days before the game.

In any event, I was glad to get to rewatch the last couple minutes of that game!! :)

Quannas may have had lingering issues from the Missouri incident, but the big ankle roll came during practice in Atlanta.

At this point, for me, even making the tourney is not enough to keep pm anymore.. short of a sweet 16 run, pm has to be gone to save this program. Hes awful.

Is it all his fault? No (but the lion's share, yes). Is he being supported enough? Of course not. But the dude has shown what he is.. a bum. He's awful.

I agree. The reality is Moser will be fine. He’ll still get paid a lot of money somewhere to coach basketball. And maybe he’ll end up at a decent school. But, keeping him only hurts the program.

It's behind a paywall, but Berry Tramel had an article in yesterday's Tulsa World stating that due to financial reasons, OU cannot justify firing either Venables or Moser.

Like Berry or not, when the OU athletic department wants to get a message to the public, they channel it through Berry.
All the more reason joe c committed malpractice and needs to immediately removed from his job
