Huge congrats to @LChamberlain44 on claiming the top spot - and you get it with a SLAM?!? Now that's just rubbing it in my face...😉

Way to do it @LChamberlain44 in GRAND SLAM fashion. Wouldn't expect anything less from the queen. NCAA All-time Home run record awesome!

Kellani is referring to the home run that won the first game of the 2013 national championships. The ball Lauren hit then wasnt above 8-10 inches off the ground. Her swing looked like a golf swing.

I'm so glad for Lauren-proud of her. I think this will give the whold team a lift having this off their backs. Now it's Shelby's turn.

I think congrats are in order for Kelsey as well, as she got her first win in a long, long time. Patty didn't pull her when we got behind and it's a step forward. I probably would expect her to get a start on the weekend, probably Sunday.

This was another major thing to come out of yesterday's game. Kelsey needs to build off of this.

Some of our posters don't believe we need Kelsey in the rotation and that Gasso needs to just shut her down for the rest of the season.

I'll be glad when the powers thay be determine that softball is popular enough to warrant decent coverage. I'm more than a little whizzed that I couldnt watch the game against N. texass and see Lauren break the record. If I had a bazilllion dollars I'd fix that and some heads would roll.

It's too early to say that Stevens is back to her old self but it sure was nice to see her pitch well yesterday. If she can follow that up with another good/great game, it will do wonders for her confidence and make us a better team.

Re the batting order change, ya reckon that Patty was reading our discussion of batting order a few days ago?:D

Utah Valley has a left-handed catcher. You don't see that very often. Unfortunately, they have no pitching. Their pitchers all had ERAs like 7.71, 6.62, 5.55, etc. Most had given up more walks than strikeouts. Their ace allows hitters to hit over 300.

Shelby provided all we needed with her only hit of the game, a two-run home run (#84) in the first. She was 1-4. Lauren was 0-1 with three walks, three runs scored, and a strikeout. Kady had a couple of doubles. Kady and Georgia drove in three each. Oh. It was 13-0 in five. Stevens was good for three innings, struggled with control in the fourth.

Kelsey Arnold had an error---her first of the year, of her career. It was on a slow bouncer that she charged, and missed, about halfway to third.

Correction: Kady is credited officially with three singles. On two, she advanced to second on the throw. The announcer said she had doubled. The officials say singles with an advance on the throw.

Who is ranked ahead of us? Does anybody have any idea who we will face in the regionals? When will that be decided? Are we for sure going to host a regional? I'm working on getting myself pumped up. If Kelsey continues her improvement, we will be double tough. I expect Patty to pitch her every opportunity unless she retrogresses. She will be given every chance to keep improving.

Some people on here think that whatever Patty and Sherri are doing at the moment is the ONLY way it can be done and anyone who suggests something different is a moron. The truth is, coaching is not an exact science and neither is a batting order.

A batting order change at this time at the top might mean that she wanted Nicole at leadoff. Despite hitting about 373, she has only been hitting 238 during conference play, Does conference play coincide to the time she was moved down in the lineup? If so, she might have been moved back up to see if it helps her productivity. She was three for four yesterday.

One thing that disappointed me last night was how asleep at the switch the scoreboard and PA people were at times. They took forever to give OU that fifth run on the bases-loaded walk on the scoreboard (2nd inning), and they didn't do so well on announcing defensive changes for OU. That seemed to mess up the TV folks (just saw the replay on FSNOK) too. OU had a different left fielder make a play to end the fourth (Townsend, for Self) and had a pitching change (S. Pendley for Stevens), and they didn't seem to catch that on the telecast, at least at first.
