What are your guys thoughts on his ceiling as far as scoring?

Watching the game again and he just scored a couple nice buckets in the post, I know he isn't a back to the basket guy but I get the feeling he could be a good scorer. He posses a soft touch for a man his size on the J and I think he could take a lot of people off the dribble. His combo of size and skill could really create some mismatches if he can finish in traffic.

I remembered in the post game radio interview, Capel talking about getting Nick out of the pass first mindset some. Talking about how he always looks to pass first and that affects him negatively when it comes to scoring.

I'm really afraid this team will struggle come conference time when it comes to scoring unless they're smoking hot from deep. I just wonder if Nick could be a part of the solution to the potential scoring issues if he becomes assertive and learns how to become a scorer.

Like i posted before, i think a lot of people are going to get frustrated with Thompson because he has the potential to be a lot more of an impact player scoring but that just isnt his mindset...he has great court awareness and has shown a knack of getting into creases when in the post, and no one can argue he doesnt have a nice midrange shot...

I wonder if there is just a trigger that Capel hasnt found yet to help him become more aggressive in that area...some need to get mad (like in the overtime the other night maybe) and i could see that as a possible way to get him more aggressive...he is just a very laid back player on that end...

He will have to start lookin at the basket more when the conf season starts though because if guys know he isnt going to shoot or make a move to the basket they will make it very difficult on him to catch or pass...

It seems like between a garbage bucket here and there and some jumpers he should average around 8 per game for this time.

I know this isnt going to address the scoring question although I agree, he needs to look for his shot more.

However man is he ever fun to watch and I love his attitude!

To see him encouraging the other players after a miss or turnover and just how hard he plays!

I am loving me some ginger t!

I would be happy if he averages 8 points in conference games.

With the amount of minutes he will get, he should average at least 8 pts/game.
