Nick Thompson - the real reason Capel needs to go

He rocked the SEC by averaging 4 points and 2 rebounds a game in real competition. Sounds dominating to me!!!!

AS A SOPHMORE!

I think that gets lost in the shuffle a bit. I know I certainly think of him as only playing one year at MSU, but he had two full seasons, and still couldn't produce. Color me unimpressed.

I think 14/7 is something to shoot for with Osby.. that would be increasing his scoring by 10 points a game and rebounding by 5 rebounds per game from what he averaged in the SEC.

Thats a TON, but what I am hoping for.

In terms of talent that should be starting for a top 4 team in the Big 12:

PG: ?
SG: ?
SF: Cameron Clark
PF: Romero Osby
PF: Andrew Fitzgerald

Need depth in the post, and two perimeter players. Pledger and Blair should be solid players coming off the bench for a good team.

Pledger needs to step up and become consistent. No reason he isn't shooting the 3 ball at closer to a 40% clip.

Pledger is a borderline starter. He needs to improve in some areas but he averaged 11 a game on the season. That is pretty solid for a sophomore.

He needs to improve his defense, his rebounding, his turn overs and his decision making but most of that will come with experience. If Pledger was a sophomore on a good team people would have high hopes for him. Even if he comes off the bench, he will be a nice player for OU next season.

You are right!!! He averages 4 points and 2 rebounds for two years!!!!

I guess we can expect domination in the Big 12!!!:ez-roll::ez-roll:

man i love it when posters attack players. especially when said posters are nowhere to be found when the team is doing good. So many new names I have never seen before on this site the last couple weeks.

I'll be shocked if Osby isn't dominating.

Your one of those guys who who are always happy and don't believe in bad things. I could shove your face into a pile of **** and you'd find something positive out of it.

Well guess what capel sucks and Santa claus isn't real

And your one of those guys that still thinks Cade Davis Sucks!!! I guess your still stuck on the fact that 2 years ago he avg 4.3 ppg.

First, he didn't even play any meaningful minutes at MSU. Research how many minutes he averaged per game and that should answer question. Your next question would be why didn't play very much and from what I have heard, he didn't fit into their system. Take it how you want to, but many people that have seen him play and practice say he is the real deal. Aggressive, athletic, can shoot the ball inside and out, and plays good defense. What more do you want?

Theirs also a huge difference between a soph and a senior(RS JR).

I don't really have an opinion on how Osby will perform for us since I've never seen him play.

However, what system can't find a place for a player who is "aggressive, athletic, can shoot the ball inside and out, and plays good defense"? Also, what is OUr system and what are the differences in our system versus MSU's that would allow him to take better advantage of the qualities you outlined above?

i don't know the circumstances but he either had attitude issues or the light didn't come on yet.

If you equate these out to him playing 32-35 min a game which i envision, his PPG numbers would be in the range of 11-12 pts a game...

also add to the fact he will probably be more involved in the offense at OU i think you could come to a decent conclusion that he would average around 14-15 pts a game...rebounds would be around 6-8 a game...

Now, do these numbers mean he is the answer? not necessarily...it just means we have another guy that can produce on the offensive end...i am more excited about him as an athlete and what he can give us on the boards and on defense...

LOL...have you seen the type of kids that are at that program. 2 kids fighting one another in the stands and they choose to keep the kid that threw the 1st punch.

All good points, even the posters before.
