Nick Thompson - the real reason Capel needs to go

If you equate these out to him playing 32-35 min a game which i envision, his PPG numbers would be in the range of 11-12 pts a game...

also add to the fact he will probably be more involved in the offense at OU i think you could come to a decent conclusion that he would average around 14-15 pts a game...rebounds would be around 6-8 a game...

Now, do these numbers mean he is the answer? not necessarily...it just means we have another guy that can produce on the offensive end...i am more excited about him as an athlete and what he can give us on the boards and on defense...

If anyone remembers, those MSU teams had some pretty good front court depth. Even a talented fr/so wasn't going to start over Varnado. I am not saying that Osby is an automatic superstar, but you can't completely discount him because had trouble finding minutes in a deep front court.

There's people saying here that Osby is good enough to be our 2. Why was he only getting 12-13 minutes a game at Miss State if he was good enough to be a 2?

That is a silly statement. Osby has some 2-guard skills, but he is not a 2. He is a PF that can play some wing. Stansbury wanted him to be a back to the basket power forward, I am not sure that he is one. MSU had at least 2 players that were better traditional PFs than Osby. I feel like some of you are just being obstinate. It is not difficult to understand how a player could struggle for minutes at one school as a fr/so and then play well at another as a rs-jr/rs-sr.

If he can truly play the 3...on both sides of the ball...that gives us such an advantage.

I know tons of 6'8'' 230 pound wing players that can handle the ball, shoot the ball, and defend guards on the perimeter.

Now, back in reality, I cant think of one.

The knock (from what I read) on Osby at MSU was that he couldn't handle the ball and didn't play great D. That's why they (cowbells) tried to turn him into a "traditional" PF.

See, this is what I mean:

This

turns into this

If he can truly play the 3...on both sides of the ball...that gives us such an advantage.

which leads to this

Osby is a PF that can play some wing. He has good lateral quickness, which means he can, at times, guard a wing player. He has a decent stroke with some range and has good handling FOR A POWER FORWARD. He has also worked very hard in practice to improve his defense, handle, shooting, etc.

Oh lord, I hope that is not true....that would be 4 players in the starting lineup that suck on D

1) pledge
2) blair
3) fitz
4) osby

I really, really hope you are wrong

LeBron (And no i am not saying Osby s the Next LeBron, I am saying LeBron is a 6'8" guy that can handle the ball, shoot the ball, and defend guards)

Middleton, C. Brewer, A. Jones, Butler kid, Singler, Parsons, Beasley, Morris.

Only reality is that you don't know basketball.

Middleton - 6'7 and not 230....215, I think

C.Brewer - the one from Florida? If so, he's 6'9 185 or so

A.Jones - 6'10 190

Butler kid - Matt Howard...he's 6'8 230 but not a wing or a ball-handler

Singler - 6'8 230...If Osby plays like Singler, we'll be lucky. Not expecting that.

Parsons - 6'10 215

Beasley - 6'10 235...would be great if Osby plays half as good as Beasley

Morris - ? Markieff or Marcus....neither are ballhandlers.

So two players fit the bill (Beasley and Singler)

Lets just say it is rare to have a guy that is 6'8 and weighs that much (230) to play the 2 or on the perimeter...

Most that can end up in the League...

Everywhere I look he's listed at 225. But like I said, if he could play the 3 on both sides of the ball that would give us a great advantage. I have no idea if he can though.

Luol Deng was listed at 220. Singler is listed at 230.

I was talking about Hayward at 6'9 and 207

I will give it to him though, like a cockroach he refuses to die
