What happens in the NIT has nothing to do with whether a team deserved a bid. The team who wins the NIT won’t necessarily have deserved a bid. But to your other point, I certainly agree that the staff needs to be better in late game situations moving forward. It was the difference between playing in the real tournament and the consolation tourney.

I understand the frustration of the season, and I've expressed it during my short tenure on this board. Obviously it sucks losing in the NIT at home, but the post season is a different beast entirely. You kinda have to throw everything out of the window. Wasn't there a well coached and talented OU team not too long ago who lost to North Dakota St in the NCAA tournament? I think we can all agree Kentucky handles Saint Peter's if they play in December. The point I'm trying to make is I don't think OU fans should dwell too much on this loss. I think we should remember that this team really was only like 10 points away from making it to dance, and a much more successful year. Yes, this team needs more talent. Yes, Moser needs to coach better. But it's not a insurmountable gap. A little better playing and coaching and this team wins 20 games in the regular season, and the NIT isn't even in OU fan vocabulary this year. Frustrating? Hell yes. But we're not near Illinois St Moser yet. Now, we're really going to see what kind of recruiters he and his staff are. I personally think who he is able to bring in this offseason is going to be a much better indicator on the future of the program than this year.

Very uninspired effort tonight imo. Disappointing because I wanted to see them keep playing.

Moser needs to work the transfer portal hard and OU has to get involved more with NIL to bring in some higher level players.

Game is a good example of why a non-power 5 team upsets one of the big conference teams in the post season. They come in with nothing to lose and go nuts from the three point line. The Bonnies hit around 33% of their treys during the season and hit 10 of 19, mostly pretty well guarded.

One thing for sure, our lack of a take over the game kind of guy and ineffective last minute plays cost us big time this year. I don't remember one time that we had a successful last minute win or lose play.

I am open but have some concerns that Moser may lack the offensive stategies to win big in this conference. His defense is usually top notch but we either don't have the offensive talent we need in this conference or he has to step up his glame.

I agree that we definitely need a point guard and #5 moving forward.

Yeah, but you can't change athleticism. Can you? Plus, he's got a lot of attributes that are way worse than Cousins. The whole Freshman excuse is an excuse in the long run. The man got worse as the season progressed. Period. As a Freshman at least get better by the end of the season which he did not.

Our fans talk about our roster not being athletic enough, then literally support probably the least athletic kid on the roster.

Cortes probably was better this year than I thought he'd be, but he also really showed how unathletic he is compared to his peers. I don't mean that to be rude, etc, but it's the truth. His ceiling is VERY limited due to that.
