Surely someone has heard something. Did he play any pickup ball with the team? Did he have a good time? It's seems to between the Sooners and Miami and we had the last visit and are closer to home. It seems like we need him the most, too.
This is consuming my mind. Wearing out the "Tashawn Thomas" search on Twitter.
This is just speculation ... Is it possible to wait until the NCAA makes a decision on his eligibility for next season? Could it be that Thomas and OU have both agreed to wait and see?
Transfers are not really required to sign a LOI during the signing period. They can just enroll at their new school when the next semester starts.
Even if Thomas waits and the OU deal does not work out, I'm sure Thomas can find a home at at a good school that can better absorb a redshirt year for him.
Again, this is just speculation. This scenario may not be feasible.
James Hale has an update. Basically saying it's a toss-up between OU and Miami. Nothing really new in there over other reports. I'm not sure Thomas himself even knows what he wants to do yet.
Nothing on eligibility. He will commit and sign somewhere before the NCAA decides if can play next year or not. I think that's at least 50/50, but OU must have decided to offer him even if he has to sit out next season.
I honestly think they will rule for imediate eligibility. U of H changed coaches and the new one has a history of NCAA violations.... at 2 schools. Since most appeals are being granted per 2012 stats, it would be tough love to penalize a kid for transferring away from a coach who they have an ethics conflict with. Just my opinion...... and I love Kelvin.... hope he gets Hornbeak.
Is there any history of the NCAA granting immediate eligibility to a kid wanting to transfer b/c the knew coach has a history of sanctions/cheating?
@jeffborzello: He discussed it with his family Sunday night. Was still undecided. RT @ouhoops: Any update on when TaShawn Thomas will decide?
@taethomas35: OKC!!! Thunder UP️
