I know, skyvue. I just meant we could have made plays to not have ourselves in that situation...but yes, putting buddy on the free throw line would have been epic. I don't like to boil everything down to one play, but I know what your are saying.

In politics they refer to this as a Kinsley gaffe---when a politician accidentally tells the truth. Self knows the refs will swallow their whistles late in close games at Phog Allen and coaches his team to take full advantage. Mason's comment is a direct acknowledgment of this fact. Give them credit for using it to their advantage, but I think it speaks volumes about the amateurism in college officiating. I don't mean that as an insult. I mean to say these guys are literally not professional referees and it often shows.

True. Hield can fix those silly turnovers, which is great.
