Did anyone see the Technical foul issued to the Providence coach in the second half of the game? I was kind of watching the game off and on, but I had missed this.

Talk about bad judgment! A total abuse of his authority.

I agree. Watched it live and I'm an ex-official, but it should never have been called. It ended up only costing them 1 point.

That flagrant in the first half was an awful call too.

That's ridiculous. That should never be a T, especially in a close game late.

If we get those same refs I'm thinking OU has almost no chance of winning.

That was ridiculous.

the ref who called it is a big 12 regular.

here's an idea, why don't you not slam a folding chair down on the court during a timeout, especially after arguing a call just made? if travis ford did that, he would be getting murdered on this board. don't do things to put officials in a position to decipher where your anger is being directed.

the nebraska coach got his second technical and tossed in last years NCAA game because he ran to midcourt trying to alert a ref that the shot clock had stopped for several seconds during play. they t'd him a second time because it looked like he was throwing a fit about a noncall.

time and place.

It sometimes takes great discipline for a coach to restrain themselves. Basketball can be very frustrating from multiple causes.

The coach was in his huddle yelling at his team. The ref had to be looking for any reason to give him a T if he's staring at his huddle jumping at the 1st opportunity he sees.

The T was a definite overreaction. The ref wanted to make himself the star and he did.

Was a terrible call. Hopefully the refs get the message about the home cookin in Dayton/Columbus and they give the road team some calls to even it out on Sunday.

Guys if he had just questioned a call then in the time out slammed the chair down, while not directly at the official but at his team, according to the rules, its a T.. This is because of Bobby Knight a long time ago throwing a chair across the floor. For you younger guys, Knight questioned a call, during a time out he tossed a chair all the way across the floor and almost hit one of his own players.

What this coach did was nothing like what Knight did. Watch the replay. It's not close. They pull the chairs out on the court as all teams do and he started barking at his players. He slammed the chair down and it fell over. It moved about 5 feet. Knight threw a chair 50 feet.

This isn't even apples and oranges. It's apples and Tuesday.
