**Official OU vs Cincinnati game thread**

Not only is Fitz undersized, he has no ability to play post defense. He would get into foul trouble guarding guys 6-5. CJ is the only post player who seems to understand basic post defense principles. He helps and recovers, blocks out, fronts when he should, fights over the top, etc....

No one else on this team seems to be able to do that. Not sure about Honore. Have not seen him enough. CJ needs to play a few more minutes, IMO because our inside presence increases when he is in. The rest of the rotation is a wash, IMO. I really don't have a preference with any of the other position debates......

only followed the game online. If OU could have shot at all could they have won? The foul patterns seemed to indicate OU got smashed on the boards. Is there any strong point to this team at all?

Neal is pretty athletic though, its not a huge drop off is CJ is for sure the better athlete
I would like to see CJ play some more too. He did a solid job rebounding today. But I don't really see his offensive game doing enough. We need guys that can score the best in the future and to me the younger group has a better chance. We need more consistency from Cam Clark offensively. He basically disappeared after the first few minutes of todays game. But he has finally shown the talent to be a big time scorer the last few games. Neal in limited minutes shows he can score some. So has Newell. It may be a little ugly to play the younger group but it's ugly to play the group we do now.

Neal would be a post player if he is in there. Do you think he can score in the post against athletic four? Also do you think he can defend and rebound against an athletic four? CJ will be better at defense and rebound.

Well then you can start CJ and rotate with Neal. Neal can also play some three behind cam, but he needs to be on the floor.

OK this is how I would start and substitute

Newell, Cade, Cam, CJ, Fitz.

Blair for Newell.
Pledge for Cade.
Neal for Cam.
Thompson for CJ or Fitz.

To whoever think Blair is good. He had at least 5 or 6 turnovers every game.
Newell does too, but he is at least quick and can shoot way better.

I don't really think CJ can score that much either. But we haven't seen a lot of Neal. The little I've seen of him makes me think he can score better. But that's very little to really get a good idea. I know CJ can't score much at all. We need to give our freshmen experience. Because our future don't look so bright right now.

Dennis Rodman can't score either. Why the heck is he in the NBA?

He was one of the best athletes ever and probably the best rebounder ever for his size. Plus in college he scored a ton. His rebounding numbers in the 90s were sick. They make Dwight Howard look just okay at rebounding.

he scored in college, and he is one of the greatest rebounders in NBA history. If CJ was that good of a rebounder (greatest in NBA history caliber) he would play every minute of every game. If not then every one including Joe C would know a change had to be made at HC

Blair seems to have a low ceiling to me. He can't handle pressure at all. I'm not sure if Newell can at this point but I think he can if he plays more and sees more of it. We basically see Newell taken out with any mistake he makes, then Blair makes those same mistakes half a dozen times after that and still plays.

Lol. Yes, let's start Newell above Blair considering the first 10 seconds he was in the game he puked down his leg for a turnover.

Blair had a lot of bad plays, he also had some good plays. Can the latter be said about Newell? Blair is young, he'll improve. He has improved.

Nickzepp, you're often extremely stupid, but somehow, you always manage to outdo yourself.

Dennis Rodman's rebounding numbers from 1991 till 2000
12.5
18.3
18.9
17.3
16.8
14.9
16.1
15
11.2(in only 23 games)
14.3(in only 12 games)

That from a guy that was 6-7 220 lbs.

Blair turned it over about 7 times tonight. Maybe 6. Newell came in and turned it over one time after Blair turned it over about 2 or 3 times to start the game. And after 1 turnover Newell never saw the court again. And Blair preceded to turn it over just as much if not more after he was put in there full time.

I like Blair and he gives OU some good things and I think he should play some but he is not the direction we need to go right now. We need to play our most skilled offensive players.

Please go back and watch the game before calling someone stupid. If Blair wouldn't have given Cincinnati all of those free points with his turnovers, we might have won the game. I would like to see Blair bring the ball up against Mizzou.

So if Newell had played all the minutes that Blair did tonight, we would've won?
