Oklahoma proves it's more than Hield by rolling past Texas A&M

n the final four minutes, Texas A&M’s press bothered Oklahoma — and the Sooners scored only eight points in the final eight minutes. But the Aggies never threatened anything close to the crazy rally they’d gotten in the second round against Northern Iowa — when trailing by 12, they outscored the Panthers 14-2 in the final 31 seconds

I didn't know we scored that little down the stretch. Gives the coaches something to bark about a little bit.

I agree. I actually thought we handled the press pretty well for the most part.

After Woodard's 3 we called off the dogs and tried to run out clock.

We stopped trying to attack the press and score and wisely chose to use up the clock instead.

Yeah, I just didn't realize how few points we scored. I thought the near-drought lasted the final three or four minutes, not the final eight.

Sometimes taking the air out of the ball can backfire, especially when it's not how you built the lead in the first place. Thankfully, all went smoothly last night (though I'll admit I was hoping for a twenty-point win and was frustrated when A&M scored a few late baskets -- but I'm shallow that way).

yep ... those huge leads can be a burden if you dont keep piling it on. Once you let up then 9 times out of 10 you lose the mojo that gave you the lead to begin with. I'd much rather milk a 9 pt. lead.
