On a brighter note...(standings)

You're not alone in your thoughts.

I have given Capel credit a number of times for bringing in more high-profile recruits since he came than any coach before him. The fact that all of them didn't work out the way we hoped is beside the point. But he has also brought in a few players who left me scratching my head in disbelief. Coach clealy has a lot to learn about evaluating talent as well as character.

By all accounts, he got the character part right this season. Now, if we can move a step or two forward on talent, we may be on our way back to where we were two years ago. Sure hope so.

Capel wasn't the only person that thought highly of Neysmith. He was a top 100-150 player, even making a few top 100 lists coming out of high school. I am not sure why that was given what has happened.

Wasnt he a teammate of someone really good?

I think scouts liked his potential because he is about 6'4'' and was listed as a point guard. Maybe they thought his skills would develop and he would turn into a really tall and athletic point guard?

Exactly what I have been saying.

This is why I'm okay with Capel getting another year to turn this thing around. No doubt he has made awful decisions with the players he's recruited (especially regarding their character), but if he has learned his lesson--which I think he has--then I think he can possibly turn the program back around.

The Big 12 is better than the SEC overall and we have 4 conference wins, they have 2. We would beat them at home and win in Auburn. If we can win at Iowa St we can surely defeat them.

LSU is as bad as Auburn.

Yeah, for all the posts I see on this board saying that the Big 12 is weak, compared to the SEC the Big 12 is a gauntlet. The SEC is awful this season... Especially the West.

And how in the hell did Auburn beat Florida State?
