On to the lopsided in state basketball Series

Amen to that! I think we’ll win this game, but the W does not always go to the best team. It’s called “Bedlam” for a reason.

Gotta bounce back. Going to be a tough one to win. I guarantee they will play with a lot more heart than we exhibited last night w their rival coming to town.

After losing to Baylor this is a must win.
I am not sure the Baylor game changes that a whole lot. It's a win we definitely need, but I am not sure its a win or stay home game for the tournament. Believe it or not, as OSU stands today, it would also be a Q1 loss just like Baylor. This leads to an entirely separate issue when it comes to how games are ranked in the Quadrants.

I feel like Texas and TCU are must-wins and the OSU is maybe close to must-win.

I just feel like OU can't lose out. No one game is critical, but they can't lose them all.

That’s an understatement. Lose them all and we finish 16-16. That would not even get us into the NIT. We still need to win 1 or 2 games to make the NIT. I believe 3 wins puts us squarely on the NCAA bubble, and 4 wins means I am not on the edge of my seat during Selection Sunday like I was in 2018.

OU needs to beat osu, Texas, and TCU because those are the easiest games left. Beat tech at home and thats 4 wins and a lock for the tourney. If we lose to osu that’s 3 losses in a row and psychologically it could start to unravel.

We need to win. Period.

Math hasn’t changed. Actually it’s gotten better for us bc other teams are doing worse.

2 more wins and we are on the top of the bubble

3 we are in

Doesn’t matter who it’s against.

It’s that’s simple.

I would rather you be right than me, but if an 18-14 record with losing to just about every good team we faced puts us on the top of the bubble, then the bubble is the weakest in NCAA history.

And it doesn't factor in conference tournaments. Every year a few bids get stolen.

Yup. People keep saying this every single year. I agree it’s weaker and weaker. However we are playing in a very good conference and played a very good schedule.

Im just using the metrics the selection committee uses.

We are currently a high 9 seed. Win only two more games we drop to the 10-11 line.

Win 3 we aren’t going below the 9 line.

Ps “Top of the bubble” to me means we are the last 2-3 in. So it could easily pop depending on conference tourneys etc.

I agree we need 3 wins to avoid the bubble. The game Saturday doesn’t have to be one of those as, at this point, though it doesn’t make sense, a loss would be a Q1 loss which is equivalent to losing last night.

Winning Saturday is more of a must win psychologically and seeding than need to win or stay home.

Quadrant wins & losses aren’t the only thing that matters, it’s just a good part. The Baylor games last night would’ve been a bigger boost to seeding than a win Saturday.

This is the truth. The Big 12 is arguably the best conference (according to the metrics) once again. Big 10 and Big East are pretty close to us as well. I think the Big 10 is probably better top to bottom, but they don't have a team near as good as KU and Baylor.

We are guilty of focusing exclusively on OU, but if you look around at other bubble teams, they would love to be in the position we are right now (Q1/Q2 wins, SOS, no bad losses). But by no means does that say that I'm satisfied with where we are at.
