One down One to go!

Based on your response, I will put you down for 24 wins this year. At one time, I know you were a rabid IU fan. How many wins do you think the Hoosiers will have at the end of the season?
I have the Bucks at 40 wins. I mean, are there really any other teams?

Has Faithful ever admitted he was wrong? He's been letting go with his endless stream of "positive" posts (that often aren't about being positive so much as finger-pointing and accusing other fans of being something other than true Sooner fans).

I mean, he's consistently assured us that everything was going to be fine and chastised some for their lack of faith -- did he ever come out and say, "Y'know what, guys? I was wrong about last season. It sucked from start to finish, and all those assurances I kept posting that everything was going to be fine and the lectures I delivered to those of you I viewed as pessimists and naysayers -- well, I was off the mark, as it turns out. It wasn't all going to be okay, not that lost cause of a season, and it's time I acknowledged that. You guys were fully justified in expressing your concerns and voicing your frustrations. That season was an unmitigated disaster."

If he did, I missed it.

You didn't miss it.

You missed it too abd. That's okay though at the end of the day the bond that ties us together is that we're all SOONER FANS I think. I know that I am. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!:clap

Them colts. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!:ez-roll:

Again you try to correct something and screw it up. "Them colts" would still be grammatically incorrect. How about "those colts"? Why don't you sit the next couple of plays out champ, maybe stop talking for a while.

Yawn......

Congrats Cam! All the rest of this jibberish has caused me to tire. I feel the need to rest before reading any more of this garble. Someone please wake me when the petty bickering has ended.

Impressive! You succeeded in typing a totally arrogant and patronizing comment because you're so superior to the people arguing on this thread (me and Faithful). And you basically wrote the same sentence 3 times in a row to say it, each time with a different forced synonym for silly speech! Congrats, it must have took you awhile to look up garble in your ancestor's thesaurus, that's a timely use of the word if I don't say so myself.

"All the rest of this jibberish has caused me to tire." Really? Is that how you speak? You sound like a dainty, 19th century lady from a southern plantation. Heavens to Betsy, indeed this garble has nearly given you the vapors! It's a message board dude, if you want to go to sleep all you have to do is turn off your computer, you don't have to make a post announcing your intentions to sleep and why. Your sarcasm is really sharp, I'm sure all the cool posters will like you now that you passive aggressively insulted Dem Coltz and Faithful. When you do wake from your delicate repose please be kind enough to show us what awesome message board posting really is.

All true and all certainly points MY way. I am the A#1CZAR of positive, dont say negative, look at the sunny side, you're a jerk if you do otherwise posts and threads.

I just find it more destructive to post the negative then to always stay positive. IMO it's worth it to endure the infrequent chastisement in order to achieve a more positive and upbeat venue.

You've seen those places mired in the negative ... they're neither fun nor constructive. There's no challenge to sitting around pissing and moaning "oh woe is us". Has anything constructive or helpful EVER happened from them?

NO.

OTOH....positive things HAVE happened from keeping an upbeat demeanor. People from these very boards have made a difference with a positive attitude and some superlative effort.

Give me the positive any day. In sports it's a boon.

We get so much negative stuff written on here that it is great to read positive comments as well. My Mom, and probably many other Moms, said that if we didn't have something good to say then we should not say anything at all. Most of us do not follow that advice but it is nice to find positive people who do. That is why I would never criticize Faithful or anyone else for staying positive about the program and finding good things to say even when things might look a little grim.

Something about dem colts is just odd and I don't like. Can't figure out what it is.

I'm all for remaining positive, and while I may not have a flawless record in that regard, I too strive to stay positive and upbeat when talking about our Sooners.

But sometimes one's loudly proclaimed "positivity" can be used a cudgel. That's the issue I have -- finger-pointing and calling out other posters because they don't live up one's personal standards of positivity and proclaiming them non-fans if they fall short.

Last season was brutal. That's a fact. Most of the fans here handled it pretty well, I think. A handful didn't. But merely taking a "positive" stance while pointing fingers at everyone who doesn't toe your line doesn't qualify as positive in my book.

Now, Sooner Traveler -- he's my kind of positive poster. Has no interest in calling anyone else out, just keeps cheering for his Sooners. That's the model I aspire to (and think I mostly achieve, with some missteps).

But even Traveler expressed some despair and disappointment here last season. Does that make him a bad fan? Hardly. He just wasn't wearing blinders.

I am sorry. Confrontation is my nature. It's like the scorpion and the frog story.

In the end I mean well. I am just not as good a guy as Trav is. Few are.

I heard he once ran a stop sign and sent the city money for a fine despite the fact no one saw him do it.

Skyvue, I realize that my opinion doesn't mean much around here, but I totally agree with you and that was well-reasoned, intelligent post. Your post made me think of "The Crucible" which was on TV this weekend. Anyone with an opinion that didn't agree with the girls who were screaming witchcraft was consorting with the devil, and you were either with the court or against it. Point being, you can be for OU bball but not enjoy a season.

huh uhhhhh....you're either on the bandwagon or you aint.

there's no hanger-onnin...errr hang-onnerin'

I'm not talking about you, Coolm. I don't see us as all that different in our approach to being OU fans (perhaps you would disagree).

I know you weren't ragging on me. I was just thinking you were right and admitting to being a major culprit.

oops, been 10 posts without a horn hating.

I can't take it Sky, we're getting NYC temps down here, how do you guys stand it?
