ORU hanging tough so far - heck, they lead right now. This could improve our tourney resume if ORU could pull this one out. I don't really know how good Gonzaga is though, so feel free to drop some knowledge on me.
Zags appear to be awake now and are up by 10.Sidenote the Spangler kid from Oklahoma apparently is a project as many thought; he has played in 4 games averaging 6 minutes 2ppg,2rpg.
I don't think a program like Gonzaga signs players that are
projects, matter of fact I don't think they recruite, they select. I wish we had Spangler her at Oklahoma.

I think you may have confused Gonzaga with Duke.
Lol, Few has made a living off of projects at Gonzaga...
No I am pretty clear, it is Gonzaga who selects, now Duke may be able to select also I don't know.
Wonder if he would share some of his projects with us hear in Oklahoma, because he has had some really good ones.
This is something that really bothers me about OU basketball fans. As a fan base we simply do not possess an appropriate opinion of our program. I do not believe any knowledgable basketball fan would rank Gonzaga as a better program than OU. Sure OU had two bad seasons but that does not make Gonzaga a better program. Historically, it is not even close. Since Gonzaga made a splash on College basketball (1999) by making the great 8, Gonzaga has been to four Sweet 16. That is really good. But over the same period of time OU has been to the Elite 8 three times and the final four once. Gonzaga has been to one more sweet 16 than OU over the last 12 years but all time the programs are not even close to similar. I don't mean this as an inslut to Gonzaga or the original poster. I just think we need to better educate ourselves as a fan base. There are very few basketball programs with more success than OU. Granted it is not the same as football where virtually no one is more successfull but very few programs can legitimately claim to be more successful than OU and that list is schools like KU, Duke, NC, Kentucy, Indiana, UCLA and a few others. We are one of the best and we really need to come to grips with this as a fan base.
Now when you get beyond that elite level there are many programs that can argue to be in the next 10-30 range but OU is clearly one of them and it is not debatable by reasonable person. Capel's bad performance doesn't change this.
Are you new to college basketball?
Anyway, Spangler is not an OU-caliber player.
I guess you were wrong
LMAO this dude has had this post bookmarked for months, just waiting for his opportunity to pounce!
Just a random thought, but since he is now a Sooner hopefully we all just hope for the best instead of worrying about being right or wrong in evaluating a kid one way or another.
