No one's mentioning Osby as a conference (or national) player of the year candidate, and I'm not saying he should be.

But the relentless hype aside, is Smart? (And for the benefit of the aggies who will post here, I don't care about what the NBA scouts see in him going forward; I'm talking about this season.)

I was going to list the stats anonymously, but there's no real point in doing so; it's not hard to guess which stats are whose:

Smart
Points: 14.9 | Rebounds: 5.7 | Assists: 4.3 | Steals: 3 | Blocks: .7 | Turnovers: 3.3 |
FG%: .402 | FT%: .780 | 3PT%: .287

Osby
Points: 15.6 | Rebounds: 7 | Assists: 1.2 | Steals: .7 | Blocks: .9 | Turnovers: 1.3 |
FG%: .528 | FT%: .804 | 3PT%: .500

Its a fair debate. Osby means just as much to OU as Smart to OSU except for one glaring difference:

Smart is making Ford look like a good coach...

Kruger doesn't need any help (although Osby is certainly doing his part).

Seems to me McLemore has it sown up. I don't why, but listening and reading that seems to be the general consensus.

I don't get that because he has had some major disappearing acts this year and I would give to Withey over him if I had to pick a gawk.

smart has just as many ... and mclemore's numbers are the best in the big 12

Great post sky...those are astonishing side by side...

I don't know if Romero is a candidate for POY honors. But I do know that he has been the most consistent player in the Big 12 this season. As I said on another thread, though, he still doesn't get the respect he deserves.

Agree with this. After last night, he is definitely a lock for 1st team Big XII.
