OSU at OU

OSU is very good. I do not look forward to playing them in Stillwater. That being said, we were clearly the better team today.

I thought we won the coaching battle big time. We played Bias exactly like Coach said we would in the pre game radio interview, took away their two leading scorers, and did it all playing them straight up man to man. Coale adjusted to their taking away Vegas. Littel had no adjustments.

This was a fun game to watch. Really pleased to see so many fans inside the Loyd Noble today, we haven't had ten grand in a while, it made for a really electric atmosphere for the kids, and the played like it.

I really thought we won the coaching battle too. Young just played stupid in the first half and got little playing time. As good as Bias is, I thought Morgan did an outstanding job and off side help was good most of the game on screens for her. Sharane was outstanding on Donohoe, made her earn every thing she got and matched Jo in chasing down rebounds. She just gets better and better each game. Playing more in control. As we have said before, Jo is making the best of her last hurrah. Doing every thing you would expect from a senior leader. We had eight turnovers in the first 24 minutes, and six for the last 16. We did a pretty good job of taking care of the ball. Kornet is finally starting to get her confidence, and playing some inspired basketball on defense and away form the ball, we will need her the rest of the way. Nicole showed me finally how she can dominate the low post, she had some really nice foot work today, and is just going to get better.

All their remaining games are winnable, except probably the bears. OSU will be tough, so will Tech, but we match up well with the rest of the pack and we should be able to secure the second seed. These kids just continue to exceed my expectations.

I agree that with the exception of Baylor, we can win the rest of them. I think, though, that Iowa State will be our toughest test of them. Baylor? We would have to play lights out and hope for a very sub-par performance from the Bears.

But anything is possible...

I agree, I am really looking forward to the Cyclones, they will be a tough match up, just hope we can get another ten thousand fans to come out on Valentines day and support our "Sooner Valentines".

I'd have to agree with the coaching part. With Bias, Young, Martin & Donohoe, the Cowgirls have 4 extremely talented, athletic players who should be playing better than their talent level suggests. The team misses Budke's input.

Due to fouls, Young was a complete non-factor today. I'm sure she'll be more productive in Stillwater. Martin did occationally look like a Frosh, but it's easy to see how she's been the FOTW 4 times. Fearless.

They guarded to keep Vegas out of it and we made them pay by going to Nicole and Sharane. Both just keep getting better as the season goes on. Great game. Fun to watch. If we have a crowd I like our chances vs ISU.
