OSU fans - you are still 13-14 and...

The only reason Ford still has a job is b/c of the talent that he is bringing in. But that same talent is also transferring. The 1st big class he signed have all transferred. OSU on paper next year is a top 10 team. Smart, Nash, Cobbins, Brown, Williams, and Olukemi...Top that off with Jurick(solid post defender), Williams(if he gets cleared to play), Guerrero(doesn't transfer), and even that Soucek kid has potential..they have a solid squad. No excuses for Ford...Tournament or get fired.

Can't argue with any of that, maybe the top 10 part but I like our roster. He was given his mulligan this year.

Do you think it has anything to do with the following?

1- Travis Ford has a 10-year contract that isn't close to being up.

2- OSU fans are too distracted by their newfound football winning. OMG WE BEAT THE GOONERZ FOR THE FIRST TIME IN EIGHT YEARS OMG

3- There are so few in attendance and so few televised games that they have no idea how bad the program has become compared to where it was.

I'm pretty sure our AD and the powers that be are aware of whats going on within our basketball program. Nobody cares or is going to your games now and nobody was going to your games Capel's last two years either when he won a rock bottom 27 games combined yet he was fired. Why would it be any different at OSU than OU if Ford does not meet the expectations that are placed upon him?

These are reasons changes ARE made, not ignored. Ford's contract will not keep OSU from canning him next season if needs be, won't happen.

For our OSU friends, this is how I see it.....

Capel--Made good first impression
Ford--Made good first impression

Capel--Highly regarded recruiting classes
Ford--Highly regarded recruiting classes

OU--Spoiled fan base that believes we win basically no matter what.
OSU--Spoiled fan base that believes they win basically no matter what.

Capel--Crappy season with talented team.
Ford--Crappy season with talented team.

OU Fans--Consider the crappy season to be a fluke.
OSU Fans--Consider the crappy season to be a fluke.

Capel--Wheels fall off, but even then its hard for most OU fans to accept or realize this fact.
Ford--????, but I would bet that we are looking at another similarity.

Disagree. We lost Both Griffins, A. Johnson, and Pattillo. Davis, Fitzgerald, Gallon, Pledger, and TMG were all raw talents. They all needed a couple of years to be talented. Willie Warren was a solid player but with him being injured most of the season, it made us even worse. You guys look at what they were ranked out of high school and automatically assume that they should be great from day 1 and thats not the case...not for us and not for 98% of the rest of high school kids that enter this league.

And lets not forget that Warren was not a 1st rd draft and he is not on a current nba roster.

Do me a favor in the future and don't make inaccurate statements about how I look at HS recruiting rankings, because I put virtually ZERO stock into them.

That was a young and talented team just like OSU has this season, which is why I drew the parallel. You don't need "a couple of years to be talented" you need a couple of years to mature, big difference.
