OSU is the most athletic team in the league

Marek Soucek is going to be a badass player by the time he is done at OSU. He's got filthy offensive skills for 7 footer, he did the Dream Shake out of triple team and dropped in a 10 foot left hand jump hook. Granted all the guys around him were 6'3" but his ease and touch are something you can't teach overnight. He's only been on campus about 2 months so he's a little behind on concepts right now but he'll be a major contributor by the end of this season.

Markel Brown is just a freak physically. If Ford can teach him how to shoot he will be big time.

I was unimpressed with Guerrero, Dowell and Gulley. If you combine all 3 you have a good PG but they all have a lot of holes in their game individually.

Nash appears to be as advertised, but it remains to be seen how good he'll be when competition steps up and more focus is on stopping him.

We all know bigad well enough that some of his posts need no response. Obviously I don't think osu will win the conference, but I guess silence means I agree.

Hey!

Nice to get thebigOSU annual overhyped Oklahoma A&M prediction of unrealistic greatness out of the way.

Of course they will suck as usual and hillbilly ford will once again be the worst coach in the league.

Dunk contest out there..

I just want to see how all of those athletes play when a real basketball game breaks out. I think Ford is a competent head coach but not much more than that. I agree though, oSu would be my pick to finish 2-3 spots higher than they are ranked in the preseason conference projections.

Wasn't Ford just marginally better than Capel with 10x the talent? Hmm.

No. He was worse. Capel won NCAA games in multiple years and should have swept hillbilly last year barring the refs in stillwater stealing our victory.

Under Ford, they have had way too many holes in their team. Either they are all perimeter based or last year they didnt have any guards.

They are more complete this year, very athletic. If Ford can't win with this group, I will join you in thinking he is a hillbilly.

:facepalm

You serious, Clark?

Capel easily had more talent for 3/4 of his tenure at OU. Remember this guy named Blake Griffin?

And the lack of talent at then end of Capel's tenure is his own fault.

Entering his fourth year as head coach at OSU, Ford is about to field his deepest and most talented team.

Entering his fourth year as head coach at OU, Capel fielded a dumpster fire of a team that ended up with OU's first losing record in 20+ years.

There's a reason Ford is still at OSU and Capel had to run back to Kryzewski with his tail between his legs.

Their going to win games at the free throw line. This team is in trouble. They have 1 post player(Cobbins) who is going to contribute. Jurick and Soucek are horrible. They need Williams back asap. Nash looked great against 6 foot nothings out there.

If OSU players think their going to get to the rim every time, their mistaken. Guerrero is their hidden gem. He is what Travis Ford needs in his PG...a quick guard that can shoot it.

If this team wasn't so young I would say they had a chance with their 4 guard lineup, the same way that Anderson, Harris, Muonelo, and Eaton were able to compete but Nash, Page, Brown, and Olukemi just isn't even close to being enough to compete in this league. They are really going to miss the low post presence of Pilgrim, Moses and Williams.

You got all that from one meaningless game against Panhandle State?

No one knows anything at this point, OSU has potential, potential to be pretty good and potential to be disappointing.

Everyone should reserve judgment on all the teams until at least the Big 12 starts. But I'm conservative like that, I don't declare a game over after 5 minutes and I don't claim to know how good a team is going to be when they have a roster full of new players.

lol. yeah, being a coach at Duke means you are horrible.
Capel brought in great talent. Just sucks that they were idiots and left after one year.

sorry bigad, not saying anything other than your opinions are not always agreed upon and I don't feel it is my duty to respond to everyone of your osu posts. Differing opinions is what makes this board interesting though.

I don't know if Baylor is going to be elite. They have a lot of talent and depth. I think they are overhyped pre-season. They aren't very tough. But they are the most athletic team in the conference. No offense to OSU or other teams. Baylor is freakishly athletic. This BallisLife video relays that story better than words could. But I could see them struggling with rebounding. They all like to try for the monster block and that gets them out of position a lot. Plus I think they will be really hard to shoot a good percentage against due to their length, which creates more offensive rebounding opportunities.

As I recall things, capel had a very talented team entering his fourth season and failed to coach them properly. OU had WW, TMG, Tiny, Fitzgerald, Pledger, Tony Crocker, Ray Willis and Cade Davis that season. I can't remember the others but that is actually a very talented roster even if it is young. I recall Capel having a shortage in talent starting his fifth season. I also recall people claiming Capel had no talent his first year but I don't really agree with that. I think he had ample talent to succeed his first year and was just a horrible coach.

I really don't get the OU fans that are so negative about Travis Ford. OSU was pretty bad when he took over and they have improved. I am fairly nuetral on Ford. I see some things he could have done better but I also see improvement so if I were his boss I would give him more time.

I totally disagree with this. 1) Ford came into OSU with way more talent. Eaton, Anderson, Harris, Obi, Adams, Thomas and Moses were left for
Ford. 'Arguably' the best PG and SG to ever play at OSU and Obi was a solid player as well. He chose to run off Thomas and Adams just like he has chosen to run off every other big man he has brought to OSU which has constantly left OSU with SF's playing the PF position.

2) As for this being Ford's deepest squad...Its probably b/c he has 12 guys on the roster. He's got a bunch of guards but he doesn't have 1 solid post player. Is this team really going to be better w/o Penn, Pilgrim and Moses?

3) The longer Ford stays at OSU the better it is for OU b/c he's horrible. As for Capel running back to coach K with his tail between his legs...and if tail you mean a nice pay check and all of the 2012 and 2013 players he was recruiting for OU that are going to go to do Duke or elsewhere now then yeah.

Stillwater smells like pig ****.
