I know this is osu information, but just bringing stuff up to talk about.

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -
It's been a busy day for Oklahoma State basketball coach Travis Ford.

In addition to landing Igor Ibaka, younger brother of Oklahoma City Thunder star Serge, OSU will reportedly grab former LSU point guard Anthony Hickey.

RELATED STORY: Serge Ibaka's Brother Headed To Oklahoma State

The 5-foot-11 Hickey left LSU after his scholarship wasn't renewed. Hickey was suspended for part of his sophomore season after violating both athletic department and university policies.

Hickey would be immediately eligible to play next season if he receives a waiver from the NCAA, which isn't a second too soon for OSU.

The Cowboys expectedly lost point guard Marcus Smart to the NBA Draft, but their most crushing blow occured when Ford dismissed freshman Stevie Clark. Clark was in line to take over the point guard spot from Smart, but couldn't stay out of trouble and was eventually kicked off the team.

Hickey averaged 8.4 points and 3.7 assists in 31 games as the Tigers' starting point guard last season

Sounds like another drug issue or possible academic since the university policy was involved, is Ford really trying to bring in someone already having issues after last season with clark?

How embarrassing would it be to be a OSU fan right now?!

It would be amazing because I heard women's golf and intramural equestrian brought in some awesome recruits for next year!

sheesh, seems like osu has so much turnover year after year. guess that explains why they get away with signing guys like this, he plays for a year and gets kicked off so they have to replace him. also, how does ford still have a job after constantly failing to meet expectations and signing guys with known character issues year after year?

That hurts my brain to even think about it. Luckily I have no "orange" (either shade) in my gene pool.

I'm sure most of their kids who "get in trouble" are seen as victims of the "cheatin' Gooners" - not for their own bad decisions. ;)

I don't think a week's gone by in my 56 years on God's green earth that the correct answer to your question wouldn't be, "Very. Very embarrassing, indeed."

Fans of OSU should be more upset with the fact they are bringing in their 4th PG when what they really need is post players. I know they got Ibaka but he's not eligible next year. So they lose Murphy, Gaskins, and Williams and they bring in Hickey. This is why Ford is terrible.

To be fair they are bringing in 6'9'' 220 Mitchell Solomon (who is a 4-star player) and 7'1'' 245 Anthony Allen who is a juco transfer. Both are eligible for next year.

Allen averaged 11 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.2 blocks per game last year in juco. He led the NJCAA in blocks 2 years in a row.

Solomon is a stretch 4 from Bixby, OK. 72nd overall player in country. Can shoot really well. Not sure about his ability to defend or rebound.

Next year in the post they will have: Lebryan Nash, Michael Cobbins, Marek Soucek, Mitchell Solomon, and Anthony Allen.

If the two new guys (Allen and Solomon) are good players, or fill roles, they should be fine in the paint.

I see only 2 legit Big 12 post players you have listed and 2 is a bit of a stretch. Lipstick on a pig, my friend. This team has crash and burn written all over it.

Who are they? I see 2 for sure in Nash and Cobbins, and 2 potentially in Solomon and Allen. Soucek sucks.

Nash and Cobbins are the only bigs they have who have chance of competing in the Big 12 right now and Nash is a small stretch 4 at best. They will be overpowered in the post on most every night in conference play and, interestingly enough, post play will probably be the strength of their team...

Overpowered in the post by whom?

We know Nash and Cobbins can play, and Allen and Solomon could be very solid players as well. Allen is 7'1'' 245 and led the NJCAA in blocks 2 years in a row. He could be a real difference maker on defense for them. On top of that, he chose OSU over offers from OU and Memphis as well.

Do I want OSU to be good? No. But I don't think they will get overpowered in the paint with the players they have. They should at the very least be good on defense in the paint.

I would be more worried about guards if I were them. They are losing a lot in Markel Brown and Marcus Smart, obviously.

All of the top teams in the Big 12 will be a lot better in the post than them. OU, KU, ISU, UT, and I would say everyone else except Tech will at the very least be able to break even inside. The big white JC center they had a year or 2 ago was also supposed to be a big time shotblocker too. We all know how that worked out for them. And yes, they should be extremely worried about guard play.

The deal with listing Nash as a post player is he gets tired of playing there and tries to be a guard. If they could ever get Nash to commit to playing the post he could be Byron Houston good.

no he couldn't ..

Nash is to the 4 what Cam Clark was. OU was pretty good last year with an undersized 4, in theory, there is no reason OSU couldn't make that work too.

When comparing Ford v. Kruger in theory, a lot more gets thrown out the window

Is this Hickey kid going to be a difference maker for OSU? From what I have read he was kind of average as an SEC point guard.
