Not sure where to put this, but thought I would start an "other than OU" basketball thread. Big 12 is shaping up to be wild. KU loses to WV in Lawrence. Tech loses to UCF in Lubbock.

This will be a killer weekend for SEC basketball. OU plays at Alabama, Florida plays at Kentucky. Tennessee hosts ranked Arkansas. Saturday's overall slate looks like it'll be pretty solid all around.

Louisville has a chance for a good win against UNC today. It would help OU a lot if they could play their way back into the bubble.

Forgot to mention this but I watched the Houston/Oklahoma State game. Uzan is still mid. I wouldn't mind his defense on this roster but his offense is still extremely limited. He made a couple 3s but looking at his stats he's still right at 9 points per game. That wasn't good enough last year. Oklahoma State's offense was just as bad as when we played them. They had like 16 points the first 10 minutes of the game and scored 18 points at half time. The game was not ever really that close. Cryer and Roberts were by far the 2 best players for Houston. I don't think Houston has any bench right now though. Not sure if they are as strong as they've been the last few years.

Louisville's losses are all against really good teams. Us, Duke, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky. You can say the same for UNC also though. I think they have a shot at being a contender in the ACC.

Los is playing well. Shooting much better than last year. Better efficiency numbers. We needed him to score last year given the deficiencies on our roster. Houston returned four starters from a top 5 team. They don’t need him to be a big scorer. They need him to run the team, play good defense, make good decisions, and hit an occasional big shot. Los may never be the player he seemed capable of being after his freshman season, but he’s playing fairly well right now.

I was all in on Los after his freshman year. That was a miss by me. There really is no sugar coating how much his shooting has regressed since his freshman year. 42% fg this year is pretty awful shooting. Hard to explain how that happens.

Is anyone watching the women’s game? To say this is ugly basketball is an understatement. So many turnovers and fouls, and as bad and stupid a review as I can imagine.

Man, Florida played for a stretch and I thought they looked unbeatable. Then Kentucky goes on a run. This is high level basketball and physical as hell. If we compete with these teams, it means something.

Agree. Florida stopped going inside and Oweh seemed to spark Kentucky.

I didn't think it would be possible to be playing in a better league than the Big 12's been the last few years. SEC is ridiculous this year. This FLorida/Kentucky game is great.
