Ou-bu

I was out doing errands. Is this game worth a watch?

I thought we played really well at times. Other times BU just to over. But overall, I thought we played well. Jo had 16 boards which is huge against a team like Baylor and of course, Aaryn was outstanding shooting the basketball. So, if you want to watch the Sooners look good, be sure and watch the first half. The second half, not so much because BU was just too strong.

Agree, Baylor was too strong in the second half, but let's not forget the depth factor, either. OU was essentially playing with a 8 player lineup, which made a difference in the second half...

Given our roster vs. theirs, I think we did as well as we could.

Girls played hard. We just don't have the horses.

Looks like Kornet is only to get real late mop-up minutes when the game isn't on the line for the rest of the season. Too bad. She has just been a freshman this year. That's all you can say. I hope she snaps out of it and Sherri doesn't lose confidence in her.

Is Kay-Kay redshirting this year, or was her injury after she had logged playing time on the season?

Does this year count against Manning? Does she have 3 or 4 years of eligibility left?

Mulkey quote on Griner fouling out. "Griner does not foul, she does not have to. We will see how we can correct this".

That's Kim. Her players never make a mistake. If she truly feels Griner never fouls and that she is going to 'see how we can correct this', she must be planning on putting the officials on the rack.

Baylor thinks they can do no wrong...FOUL??? Us ??? No way....well, today we had refs that weren't intimidated to call fouls on Griner and they did the "unthinkable" of fouling her out!!! How could they do that??? I say it is about time....them long arms that fly around HAVE to foul sometime....Usually the refs are too scared to call them, and take the heat from their fans and their coach. So bravo to the refs!!! Also the girls played really hard the WHOLE game, and yes, it is worth a watch, if you haven't seen it. I'm proud of the way they marched in that gym and wasn't intimidated and took it to Griner in the lane....Sure she got 8 blocks, but that's OK.....I was pleased with our girls effort today.

No, Maddie will have four years left to complete her elgibility.

The girls really played pretty well today. If they can play with this type of passion the rest of the season, they should get the number two seed in the conference tournament. We just have to stay focused, healthy and get our bench to contribute a little more.

Roc, can you explain further?

She played in a heck of a lot games. I thought you could only go so far in the season before you couldn't get a medical red-shirt - and I thought she'd passed that.

Thanks in advance for clearing it up for me, if you can.

Someone posted the rule right after she was hurt and said that she had played in the exact maximum number of games allowed. I want to say it's 20%, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes, it is 20% which includes pre-season games. I'm not sure how many games she participated in.

I think I recall hearing Billy Tubbs say that she would not meet the 20% automatic redshirt qualification, but that after the season she could apply to the NCAA for a special exemption and that in similar cases those are usually granted.

In order to get a hardship waiver, the season ending injury must occur in the first half of the season and the player must not have participated in more than 30% of the scheduled contests (not including exhibition games).

This is defined in Section 14.2.4 in the Division I Manual.

The women have 30 regular-season games scheduled this year. Maddie only played in 6 games. Whitney only played in 9 games, so she would be eligible if she weren't limited by the 5-year rule.
