OU - Kansas Game Thread

Strange game. Kansas has not missed a free throw. A 41% free throw shooter swished a one and one.

They don't get offensive rebounds, until tonight.
 
I never thought we were a three seed, but we definitely won't be one now. :-(
 
Played all year without horrible loss and then picked last home game to pull a stinker.
 
I think we had a three seed in the bag. Not now. I didn't get to see this, although I guess that I have it taped on TV on the delay. It just didn't sound like some people showed up ready to do the things it takes to win, like they thought it was over from the tip.
 
We couldnt throw it in the ocean but it's hard to win without playing defense ;and we played poor, very poor, defense.
 
Well crap!!!! Was hoping to get on and see us wipe the floor with them! Father in law giving play by play through texts as I couldn't get it! Was the defense as bad as he was saying??? Saw that ISU beat Baylor! Looks like the Big12 overall is pretty even. Anyone can win or be beat on any given day.
 
Yes, pretty disappointing. I suspect we could play them 10 times at home and not lose another, but this is the one that counts.

Let's see. What was it K said? "It's just because we had wrapped up our spot in the conference, so ...."

Totally teasing. That is no excuse - and not the reason we lost. We just played about as bad as we can. It happens sometimes - and you hope it will be against a fairly weak opponent so you still have a chance to win. Even that wasn't enough tonight.

I suspect this ends our hope of a home court round 1&2, and a bit lower seed. But we could help ourselves by playing at the top of our game in the Big-12 tournament.

This should send a clear message to the girls. If you can lose at home to Kansas, you can lose to absolutely anyone at any time. You better get ready to play every game.

Easy for us to say - not as easy to actually do.
 
Sherri said in her show that she hoped we would not be "hungover" from the baylor win and that is what happened.

Ha, never happy when OU loses EVER. Unfortunately we still aren't getting what we should. If you can beat Baylor and are worried about a let down, COACH them hard and don't let it happen. Geno wouldn't let it happen, just sayin
 
Just watched on tape. Pathetic.

Nothing from Peyton, Gabbi and Ortiz.

Best performance followed by worst.

How can you not be motivated to win this game? How can you not demand and ensure focus and motivation.

My prediction of 2-2 in the last 4 seems almost guaranteed now.

Never thought 1 of 2 would be to Kansas.

Extremely disappointing.

Education. Our young team received yet another one tonight.

Learning how to react to a big win is part of the process. Hate to lose the perfect record at home and have this happen on senior night; hopefully it'll only sharpen the saw as post season play approaches.

Let's finish the regular season strong and go win Bedlam on Monday!
 
This team wanted to travel during the NCAA not stay in Norman and host.

Poor night on O for sure but Kansas barely had 50 points with a minute or so left. Not sure how that is a bad defensive night. The girls had an off night- especially on O. Blame it on the snow, the tip time adjustment, over looking Kansas, or Sr. Night, but.it was just a weird night. In fact it was one of the strangest I can ever remember and I've only missed 1 home game in the last 11 years.

Nobody wanted the ball. The rotation got messed up and nobody found a rhythm. Every time it looked like someone was about to get going they'd fire up a brick or miss a bunny. Neither Gioya or Peyton got good looks. I think part of it was that they had grown so accustomed to being zoned that the man D all night messed with them. Whatever it was their movement off the ball was not at its best and they were not getting great looks.

Tough game to watch but this may be a blessing in order to get their minds right just before tourney time.

Oh and last thing... a 3 seed??? I like this team a lot & NO ONE is going to want to see us pop up in their bracket but they are not one of the best 12 teams in America right now. Can we all agree to that?
