So...a few weeks back I was definitely on the train saying that we had to execute better down the stretch. There are still a lot of threads/posts that we are not playing great ball right now.

Bottom line is, we've got the best record in the big 12 over the last 10 games at 8-2. I don't think the round robin schedule is getting enough credit for why we lack flow/consistency game to game at this point in the season. You see it in every big 12 game right now.

Having to play EVERY team two times, home and away, means that every team prepares for you twice, building on what they learned the first time. Throw in that the big 12 has the most decorated collection of coaches top to bottom of any league, and you are bound to be challenged night in and night out.

I think you'll see us open it up a bit more when the NCAA tournament comes.

Hope you're right. Would like to see more blockouts and less staring when the ball goes up.

Exactly. Effort for rebounds and loose balls as well as poor decision making on offense leading to turnovers or ill-advised shots are the only things dragging this team down.

I honestly have zero problem with where we currently stand. I do think we've let a few get away that we shoulda won. if we come away with Washington and Creighton as well as just the KSU game at home(and even accept the loss at manhattan) then we would be sitting at 23-5 and be jawing for a 2 seed ATLEAST and if we won out 25-5 and won 2 games in the big 12 tourney 27-6 I think we coulda been looking at a 1 seed(unlikely but still probable). But it just didn't happen that way. I think we have to remember we only have 1 senior in the top 8 and with what this team brings back next year those are the kind of losses that will be unacceptable and we can come out of those games with victories. Losing Thomas will be hard but returning 4 of 5 and your top 2 scoters with your best rebounder and best assist man and you bring in a shot blocking force(Manyang) and a versatile 3/4(Bufford) I really think next year is big 12 title or bust and we talk about Final Four until the end of the year.

My one worry right now is Spangler. The last few games he just looks wore down and isn't flying around and having his usual fight to him it seems. Obviously it's the end of the season and no one is as fresh as the start of the year, especially being at the end of a rough big 12 schedule. The same thing happened at the end of last season and it really hurt us in postseason. This isn't a knock on him at all. I just feel for us to really make a run in the tourney, we need him to be the Spangler we know he can be.

Agree with this. I really hope that next year we'll have enough post depth to get his minutes down early in the year.

To add to the Spangler talk, these next 2 games will be huge tasks for the inside game. It was a clear advantage for OU vs ISU at home and we will obviously need Ryan at his best to combat KU's size inside.

I really hope he is OK these next 2 games. If we is, we can win a conference title.
