WTH?

Just got a sportscenter update saying we fell out of the rankings.

Don't unrank the team, unrank the damn plane that delayed our West Virginia travel :(

Just saw that as well. Don't understand that at all. We have all those issues in West Virginia and don't even get a shoot around. We still take them to ot and almost won it if not for the 3. Than we beat Baylor pretty good. Seems the voters have been pretty hard on us for some reason.

Did KSU leap-frog us?

I will agree that a top 20 team should have closed it out at WVU, but an overtime loss on the road in the big 12 to a potential tourney team and a huge win at home shouldn't drop you this time of year.

It's obvious that the strength of the big 12 in the middle is hurting us. We're still a half game back from second in the conference.

Agree, gary. If they only have three big 12 teams ranked, though, it's a tragedy.

Win two this week and that is all fixed.

Exactly. We're 26th, so it's not like we dropped far out or anything. Just have to go on a winning streak here and we'll be fine. If we can get 3 wins before we head to KU, all things will be looking up. I think we have a real shot at going 6-1 down the stretch. Just have to take care of business.

We're not even close to being ranked either. We'd have to double our current point total.

Love the respect the RPI-number 1 conference is getting.
And Iowa State, who we split with and are ahead of in the conference standings, sits at #11.

I think it might be good! Will get attention of the team!

A) It was bound to happen. Look at the teams ahead of us. All of them had a much better week last week and have better records. The only possible exception is maybe UConn, who has a better record and had a "better" loss last week.

B) College basketball rankings mean very, very little. We need to win games, who cares about rankings?

Wisconsin had fewer points last week than OU does this week and is 21st this week.

SMU had 15 points last week and is 22nd this week.

And, Iowa State has a much better overall resume than OU. 6 top 50 wins with OOC wins over Michigan, Iowa, BYU, and Boise State. OU's best OOC win is Mercer.

I doubt the voters in these polls are looking up schedules before they vote. They're looking at wins and losses. Texas beat KU and jumped up 10 spots. We lose at WVa and fall like a rock. It's all perception with those guys...thank goodness they don't make out the brackets!

1) Don't like that we aren't ranked right now.

2) Like that the guys probably feel this way, too.

texas gets smoked by K-State and falls ... not that far.

I could understand our ranking a bit more if last week's games were reversed -- if our loss to WV was our most recent game -- but we followed a very hard-fought road loss in Morgantown with a decisive win over Baylor. And yes, I know Baylor's floundering, but they just beat oswho on the road and our game with them wasn't even close.

Not to mention that WV followed their OT home win over us by giving KU all they wanted in Lawrence.

The voters likely watch less Big XII games than most of us.

15 Michigan 17-6 702
16 Iowa 18-6 686

Are their wins that much better than ours? Have the same record as Iowa and one more win than Michigan.
