**********OU-OSU Game Thread**********

Hey announcers -- the game's in Norman. OU's winning big. They're ending a six-game losing streak. Enough with the Keiton love.

Haha. Ford "coaching" now. Calls a T.O. after a made bucket as if the game hasn't been decided.

Opie's a great shooter, but he didn't make them when it counted in this game.

No, I'm not his daddy, but I can recognize a great shooter when I see him.

And it's nothing new to me, either... I have seen Page's act before.

If it weren't for Opie, T Bone State would barely have 30 total points!!!

It's a lot easier to make them when you can just dribble down and fire them with no conscience.

These announcers can truly kiss my ass. Robert Allen wouldn't have slobbered over the Cowboys more than these guys did. We're up 15 in the final two minutes, and all they could talk about was oswho.

And why do they view oswho as being such a contender for the NCAA tourney? What nonsense.

77-64 final score. The game wasn't really that close. I would love to see this OU team every night. Why does Reid Gettys think OSU has a shot at the big dance?

Gettys - "Tough loss."
Armstrong - "Yes, tough loss"

Is this the Phillips 66, OSU broadcast?

Don't they have a losing season record???? Excuse me??? Teams don't make the dance with a losing overall record unless they win the conference tourney and that ain't happenin' with Stoolwater State!

OSU had zero shot to make the NCAA's.

Getty and Armstrong make it sound like tonigh't loss knocked them out of consideration.

Pretty bogus!!!

My final thought on Opie. He's a really good shooter normally and an amazing garbage time shooter.

For sure. I thought that I was listening to an Oklahoma State broadcast team, the way that they were going on about the Pokes.

Is that supposed to be a dig? If so, it fails and is misplaced. Kids who take hundreds of shots a day to master a craft gain confidence from practice, and also previous success of seeing the ball go in at a high percentage. Should he lose confidence and clam up/stop shooting if he misses a couple? Why would he, he's a great shooter and has earned the right to put up shots. Shooters with too much conscience get gun-shy and fail.

Besides, everyone uses the same ball, rims are all 10 feet and the 3 pt line is about 20 feet out. If not having a conscience makes it easier to make 3s then I hope all our guys stop having a conscience so they can score more. Sounds like a positive trait to me.

Not a dig at all, an observation. Earlier in the game in the flow of the offense he missed a ton of shots. Later in the game when it didn't really matter and he could just dribble down and launch or come off one screen and launch he made a ton of them. There was no pressure, the game was basically decided.

Your point is semi-valid. Many of his makes did come during garbage time. But he made a few during their "unbelievable" (tm Reid Gettys) comeback, too.

He did make a couple, his percentage was still very low at that time but I thought Williams and Nash sparked their UNBELIEVABLE comeback.

Sounded like a typical game for Armstrong and Gettys, to me. I had to laugh early in the second half when Gettys was trying to second guess a couple of the calls by the officals and he was 100% wrong in both cases. He's an idiot.
