This is a very winable game. We need to get off to a fast start and give our shooters some confidence. We need to have an inside outside game working to perfection. We need to stay out of foul trouble. We need to defend with intensity and rebound the basketball. None of those things are outside of our capabilities. If I were to pick one key, it would be Nicole Griffin. IF she can score 15+ and grab 8 rebounds, that will make our inside game very effective. Yes, the guards have to score but without a really good inside game I'm not sure we can win.

I'm picking the Sooners by 3.

Hopefully the game won't be called like the last one. I think we can win it too but like you said several stars need to align. Making the Sweet 16 would be incredible for this team.

I'm still leaning toward a doom and gloom prediction, but I would love to be wrong.

+ Joanna McFarland will likely get a double-double
+ Aaryn will likely lead all scorers for at least 20 points
+ Sherri Coale is smarter than the average bear
+ We already faced them and know how to beat them this time around

- We are going to turn the ball over 20-30 times
- We are going to hit threes while missing free throws
- I have lost confidence in Nicole Griffin as much as I love all our Sooner players dearly
- We have hardly any bench depth to go to if our starters are hitting on all cylinders

i want to be wrong soooo badly

I'm just going to relax and enjoy this game. UCLA did beat the Sooners in Norman by 6 on 11/14 when the Sooners were reeling from multiple player losses. On the season, the Bruins have lost 4 fewer games.

However, the Pac-12 isn't the Big 12. The team that finished exactly 1 game behind UCLA in their conference just lost. At home in front of a large and frenzied crowd. By 15 points to the Big 12's 7th place team.

This Sooner team has already met and exceeded all reasonable expectations.

Who knows? Maybe next we get cherries and cream. You surely can't expect the heavens to part to admit this team to fan heaven. That's both unrealistic and vanishingly unlikely.

Enjoy while you can. I'm extremely proud of "my" team. We all should be proud of our team.

What we are missing from that game is, Whitney had 19 points and 6 rebounds.

If you will notice, I'm the one who picked the Sooners to win.

Then on that light-hearted note, I'll just mention OU's future schedule:

Tennessee
Baylor
Connecticut
Notre Dame

;)

I certainly hope you're right! But, I'll be very happy with this season if we can just get by UCLA. That will be a good season.

It's not good when our easiest shot at winning is Tenn. Baylor and UConn romp us and probably ND too. I agree. Make the Sweet 16 and that's our FF.

OU 11 UCLA 9 under 16.

Looking good but need to keep them off the boards. We're running and getting good looks. Jo with four Vegas with three Sharane and Griffin with two each.

UCLA 17 OU 15 under 12.

We're getting beat on the offensive boards. UCLA getting too many easy shots. We just committed our first two turnovers on back to back possessions.

OU 24 UCLA 20 9:56.

Hanging in there. Lots of banging going on but not sure how they're going to call it. Jaz getting some good minutes and Sharane seems to be showing some mettle. Jo and Sharane with threes.

OU 30 UCLA 23 under 8.

Kornet and Jo with threes. Griffin and Jaz with two fouls. Kornet playing some good minutes. So far we're taking it to them pretty well. All this and Vegas wouldn't hit the floor if she fell down. Brewer is on the bench with a cut under her eye.

35-30 OU under 4.

Four with two fouls each. Things got a bit sloppy. UCLA still hitting the boards and getting some easy looks. OU still on a 20-12 run.

We just need to eliminate the really bad plays and stop taking rushed shots and we will be fine.

42-37 OU half.

The microwave heating up as Vegas has our last nine points. Jo with 13. Hopefully fouls won't be a factor in the second half. I think Nicole sat maybe the last nine minutes or so. Even when we miss we're getting some good looks. We just need to take a deep breath. We're playing pretty well.

It didn't help that they hit their first three with five seconds left in the half.

Since I am getting only two channels with Vandy and UConn, I haven't seen the game. Why the fouls?
