I was GIA, we had more points then them when the game was over, did I miss something??

Lot of negativity after a road win vs a rival....

We have horrible fans. Some teams have moral victories. At OU we have moral losses. That is where we ***** and moan like our team lost even though we never trailed, won on the road and are ranked number 2. We did this in a week when the 1, 3, 8 and 9 team all lost.

Incoming post about how championship teams never win close roads games or overcome turnovers...

You must have left at half time thinking it was over!

Great to beat osu ANY time ANY way. But the 2nd half certainly left a bit of a bad taste in your mouth. Reminded me a little of how I felt after the 2014 OU/tx football game. We won but you were thinking what was that?!

Which isn't bad. Gives Lon something to get on these guys in practice out ahead of a big two game stretch this weekend!

Any win is a good win.

But hopefully that's the worst we play all season. It's truly a relief to be able to play like that and still win.

I was at the game as well. Yes we won and I will always take a win. But that was terrible play. Stupid play. Just not good. I mean Buddy had 10 turnovers all on his own. And the thing is most of our turnovers were completely unforced or just playing out of control again.

More positive posts came after the KU game than most of our recent wins combined. It was a great game and all but we lost. Reading some of these chicken little posts makes it hard to tell if we won or not. Ill never understand Sooner MBB basketball fans.

I'll win every game the rest of year by 2 points!

Sometimes wins are ugly!

People were proud of our 3ot loss to KU, and meltdown mode after a 2 point win at OSU.

Get a grip people.

I agree. 3OT loss was a moral victory only because we had the nation talking about that game. Thats great for recruiting. The 2 point win over OSU is great for us to help us not only get a 1 seed in the tournament but to become the number 1 team overall in the country. At the end of the day, A WINS A WIN!!!

If OSU wins by 2 in Norman, they will have a ticker tape parade in downtown stillwater.

People need to realize that its a long season with a lot of ups and downs along the way. A road win in this conference, no matter how ugly, is a valuable thing (ask an Iowa State fan about that). Obviously there's a lot to fix, but OU keeps pace with the conference front runners and got a 6th straight Bedlam win. I'll take it.

Get over yourself and get real. Everyone is happy we won. No one is (or should be) happy with the 2nd half performance.

Being a sunshine pumper might make you feel good but reality is if we play like that against the upper teams in the B12 we'll get embarrassed.

Let people vent a little. Not everyone can be the eternal optimist you are.

In my case, being at the game greatly helps the venting process. Shouting out-loud inside the arena and leaving hand-grip imprints in the steel armrests helps relieve the frustration.

For me, watching a game on TV while my team struggles is MUCH MORE frustrating.

Can you point to any evidence that we, in fact, will play like that against the upper teams?

See, here's the thing about the glass-half-empty crowd: They criticize even after wins, even those with double-digit margins. They can always see disaster just around the corner -- and not just after a tough win like last night's, but after any win (and Katy bar the door after losses).

Just as you have said that everyone's happy with the win last night, I can tell you that no one's happy with our poor play in the second half last night. The difference is, because of a single half of poor play, the teeth-gnashers fear (if they're not outright convinced) that bad times could be coming, while the sunshine-pumpers, as you term them, understand that in the course of a long season, there are going to be games -- many of them, even most of them -- in which we don't play our best for 40 minutes. But five minutes, 10 minutes, even 20 minutes of bad basketball doesn't mean our season is about to go down the tubes.

I addressed it another thread, but I'll repeat it: I wish I had a dollar for every post on this board (and the football boards) that went something like, "If we play like that against Team X, poisonous frogs will come pouring forth from the skies!" There's always this not-quite-articulated fear from these posters that our bad stretch/half/game is the real Sooners, that we've finally revealed the terrible team we are and the worst is yet to come.

But those same posters, after we mud-stomp a highly ranked team (see: Villanova), never take the opposite tack. You never read from them, "If we play like that going forward, we'll go undefeated and roll to the national title!" They never see good play as a possible precursor of what's to come, only bad play.

How is enjoying a victory and looking at the positive aspect of having won the game being a sunshine pumper?

More importantly, how is maintain a positive attitude about things in your life a negative characteristic ? Many people on the internet literally act as if it is insult to be an optimist. If the best insult you have for me is something I consider a compliment, I guess I should just say thank you.

Me too. It would be a lot of money.

Either we exist in a world of conformists or we simply do not. I'll side with the "we do not" crowd and because of such you are going to get opposing viewpoints regardless of any expected outcome (any). A poster uses the word 'if' and all of a sudden a mass of undergarments need to be readjusted. There is nothing expressed or shared on this board which will change the outcome of any Sooner basketball game regardless of which side the opinion originated from.
