Pastner could be cure for what ails OU >>> The Oklahoman

Thank you for posting this. That's two minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Jenni writes like she's in 10th grade, so that's probably an accurate statement.

Why would Pastner leave Memphis for anywhere that's not Duke or Carolina or maybe Kentucky? Memphis is a better job than OU.

What's great about the article is she goes in depth about the reasons that Memphis is a better job than OU but then goes on to say how great of a hire Pastner would be. Why not just write a story about how great of a hire Coach K would be?

I wouldn't say it's much better job. But the basketball area. If Memphis were in the SEC or Big East it would probably be considered a lot better job than it is.

I wouldn't leave Memphis for OU (bias aside).

Memphis is a septic tank of city, of course people would want to leave there. Memphis BB is not near the job OU is. Memphis has had very good success lately, but that was due to Calipari and lots of cheating. In the same time, OU made it to the great 8 with its worst coach in 4 decades. Memphis <<<<OU

Oklahoma (Sooners) basketball competes with football and the OKC Thunder.

What does Memphis bball compete with? The Grizzlies? Hardly. Tigers football? lol

Memphis isn't unlike any other American metropolis. There's some undesirable parts and some plush places outside the city. It reminds me a lot of Kansas City.

Not to mention OU football will always and forever rule the OU athletic department and Memphis football will always and forever rule the city dump.

So you're more concerned with being the BMOC than actual program success, if that's the criteria Memphis is definitely better.
