Anybody think Payton won't play and play a lot his first season at OU? Certainly not me.
I, for one, won't be surprised if he starts. How could you justify bringing a kid who can dribble, pass and shoot the way he does off of the bench, except maybe to begin the season?
I am super excited about what he will bring to the team!!!
I know people don't like the thought of a freshman replacing a 3 year starter, but if he is good enough to make Woodard the backup point, then that means only great things for our program.
I think he starts along side wood!
He very well may, My early though for the Starting Line Up in 2016 is
Either Woodard or Pritcahrd
Odomes
Buford
Lattin
Manyang
But either way with those 6 plus doolittle, McNease, James, and whoever else we get in 2016 should be a good team
I think he starts along side wood!
Me too. Woodard will be the only returning starter in the backcourt for 2016-2017. We will lose Buddy and Cousins at wing. Buford and/or Odomes (James) will likely take one of the spots, but they need another ball handler and outside shooter. I will be shocked if Pritchard isn't in the starting lineup by the time conference games begin. Of course, things can change in 18 months.
I knew we were on the same page Ada. We usually are. I knew what you meant. By the way, welcome back. I missed seeing you post.
That's what I think, too. I never meant to imply that Payton will start over Jordan. No way a kid who has started every game of his career will come off of the bench as a senior. My point was simply that Pritchard is too good to be a back up off of the bench for more than the first few games of the season. Besides, any player who hits 9 threes in one game as a high school senior can play the two in my book.
I get chills just thinking about having two players with point guard skills in the same lineup, one who can stroke it from deep like Payton Pritchard. If WVU or any other team in the Big 12 is foolish enough to try a full court press on OU with those two in the lineup, bring it on!
