Steven Pledger, Oklahoma, Jr., G, 6-4, 222, Chesapeake, Va./Atlantic Shores Christian School
Pledger averaged 23.5 points and 5.5 rebounds as the Sooners split two games with nationally-ranked opponents last week. The junior guard began with 17 points and six rebounds as Oklahoma dropped a 77-65 decision to No. 6 Baylor. He followed that performance with 30 points and five boards as OU won at No. 22 Kansas State, 63-60. He had 20 points by halftime in that contest en route to his third career 30-point effort. It was the first road win against a Big 12 opponent for the Sooners since Jan. 26, 2008. Pledger shot 56.3 percent from the field in the two games, including 43.8 percent from 3-point range. He has six games with 20 or more points this year after having just three during the entire 2010-11 campaign.

It is amazing that a guy like Pledger could do this. If you read some of his critics he hardly belongs on the floor. Perhaps some of his critics have spoken too soon.

I have a serious question for OU fans. Who is the best player on the team?

A. Pledger
B. Fitz
C. Osby
D. Grooms

Honestly, I don't think Grooms is the best player but I do think he is a good player. I think it comes down to Osby and Pledger with Fitz being a close third. I really hope M'Baye is the best player on the team because OU will be a very good team if that is true. If M'Baye is not the best player on the team, I hope he is a serious contender for best player.
