Pledger suspended for tonight's game

I've been told that we can expect 2 players to be suspended for a larger portion of the first part of the season... Maybe the whole first semester...

I highly doubt Kruger would be playing people today if he planned on disciplining them in the near future.

They can play in the exhibition games even if they are about to get suspended... This punishment isn't coming from Kruger...

And I wish it was just a rumor.

So I take it you're suggesting NCAA violations?
We'd know if any players were academically ineligible by this point.

It's coming from compliance so it's sounding like that...

Couldn't get confirmation on the names... but I wouldn't be surprised if Pledger is one of them.

Any other info as you get it would be greatly appreciated.

I promise most of us won't "shoot the messenger" even if it is terrible news. That said, I sure as heck hope your source is wrong as this program is finally starting to put the pieces back together. :(

Any news on this yet? What do you mean significant portion of the season?

My goodness this team can't lose any primary contributors.

It is a rumor. This is what has been said:

Cant' confirm the names ... Pledger might be one

In the past when OU has been worried about a player's eligibility they have suspended the kid while they figured it out. Compliance generally doesn't allow rumors to escape and then suspend a kid. Additionally, Pledger has been at OU for two years. He has been cleared by the clearing house. Complaince relates to NCAA compliance. If Pledger had issues I am pretty confident we would have heard about them with all the Tiny Gallon stuff. Finally, if OU and Kruger had any reason to believe two guys had NCAA issues why would Kruger use valuable playing time on the kid in an exhibition game. That just doesn't make sense.

I understand it is possible this relatively new person knows something, but I am not about to give them credibility so quickly based on a few vague statements.

I believe everything everyone tells me all the time.

He signed up for the site the same month you did. LMAO.

Do you understand some of us have known each other long before this pard existed? Some of these guys go back to the OUhomer board and that is over a decade ago. Most of this board came from OUinsider.

And a lot of people don't post much, or change names when they change boards.

He said it was a RUMOR. What more do you want from him? If somebody thinks they hear something about OU basketball that might be true, I want to hear about it, even if some of them turn out to not be true. As long as people don't try to pass off rumors as fact (until they become fact), I'm fine with hearing them.

Credibility = posting on the old board.

haha, whatever.

I agree, some people have little to say and prefer to simply read. I don't really understand why you would change your name but I don't get why an internet identity is a "secret". In all other facets of our lives who we are and what do is information we gladly share with people.

Actually what he said was I have been told... Later he said I wish it were a rumor.

Those statements are not saying I heard a rumor. They may invite an inference more than they imply something (that is debatable) but I think they imply or it is proper to infer it is not a rumor rather than it is a rumor.

I want to see OU basketball succeed and I would prefer not to see negative information circulated unless the person knows it is a fact. I suppose reasonable minds could differ on this subject.
