Credibility = posting on the old board.

haha, whatever.

To me credibility equals a history of credible behavior. If you have shared your thoughts and opinions with me over a period of time, I am more likely to find you credible than a person I don't know. Perhaps your definition is different.

Translation: If I agree with your posts, then I find you credible. If I don't, you are SOONER DEAD to me.:):)

I agree with Denver. We trust some posters because they are right more often than wrong over a long period of time. Someone throwing out a rumor for the first time? I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Nobody is asking you to believe it. Don't. But don't bash the guy. He thought we'd be interested in knowing about it, and I am. Whether it pans out or not.

Who was bashing him?

Nothing you said rose to that level. The response to your post did not match the intent.

On another note, I'll add my two cents about the messenger in this case. CZech8 has been around since shortly after this site opened in late 2008. I also remember him from the Insider board, so I don't see any reason to doubt if what he said is true. He clearly believes what he reported is accurate. It's not like he registered a month ago and revealed this bit of news a few weeks later. That, to me, is the definition of someone who could easily be a troll. Czech8 does not fit that description.

There is always an inherent risk in reporting something that could turn out to be a rumor. Get it right and you'll likely end any doubt about your credibility going forward. Get it wrong and that doubt will be there. It's the chance you take. And, by the way, I have been wrong before. Fortunately for me, most people have short memories. :)

Except the fact that it's almost 2012.
