Great game against the Horns. She deserves more minutes.

What yesterday showed us.
A. We can win without Vegas (says a lot bout next year).
B. We can win without going to the low post. The mid range jumper was our strength.
C. The girls are much tougher me can play that way. We need to be as aggressive as UT is going to the ball. We wait on it to much. We should be the aggressor.
D. Too many stupid fouls put Sharane and other starters on the bench yet we still won. Give Morgan credit for her leadership.
E. Edwards is asserting herself (good), but still needs to adjust to the college game. Making careless turnovers is her weakness.
F. Kay Kay played very well in the second half after being totally ineffective in the first half. You have to like her persistence. Hope the injury isn't serious.

Too bad this game wasn't early in the year. It would have been a big boost to the team's confidence which they really needed.

I think that playing Louisville to a standstill should have given this team confidence early, especially after beating Gonzaga. The UCLA game seems to have been a turning point in self-confidence.

Kay Kay will apparently miss two games, Saturday and Monday.

Edwards got caught up in the "trying to make something happen" attitude. I think this really crippled Griffin and Williams. They were trying so hard to make something happen---like fouls or interior play---that they were throwing up ridiculous shots. They were hitting the bottom of the rim, or a four foot shot was only going two feet. Those weren't all blocked. They were just at ridiculous angles. But, they didn't pass it back out. They tried to score inside.

Durrett seems to be the only big man that we have that knows how to get a shot off in a crowd. I never thought I would say that.

In addition to not having Aaryn, I think we played through Griffin's worst game. I think she was all anxiety.

Portia has had a couple of games like this before but never sustained her play. Hopefully, nearing the end of her collegiate playing experience will motivate her for the rest of the season. We're really going to need her, especially since KayKay is injured.

Nicole has probably been the best on our team this year as far as performance as a percentage of their ability. She has made a real effort. I think she tried too hard against Texas. She did that once before recently, shooting from odd angles.

If Kay Kay can't go, we may see Portia and Gibbs.
