Possibilities this week

Is it common for assistants to have buyouts?

It is becoming more common. I know Crutchfield did when he left Arkansas (I was told it was 100k) but they waived it because he was going to East Central and not a competitor.

Screenshot of Bryce liking the OU post about transfers. At least it’s something!

Dont think BT wants to be PG. He wants some freedom to play. a little 1v1 is where he is best. Great coaches adopts to his players. there would be a package for BT.

Porter offense allows some 1v1 at certain times.

When you say package, are we talking an LSU type package ($$$) or a BT ISO package to get a bucket when you need it?

OU makes the most sense for so many reasons:

Consistent postseason success
Coach who went to final four
Three current NBA “stars” (using that term loosely — popular players)
Best chance for deep tourney run

Then you look at OSU and Tulsa and go:

I know the coaches
I can shoot 20 times a game

Going to be a really interesting announcement.

i hope for us but i could see an OSU pull, i liked the way Boyton's team played last year vs an unknown situation at OU....the sell is be the next Cade Cunningham....which is not realistic but "realism" isn't how these things work.

Boyton showed me a lot last year, his teams played hard....he got good shots or a layup against us when had to run half court sets, went to the boards hard on both ends.

he beat the national champions.

that could be a strong sell.

Is he good enough to be a 1st round pick after another year? If so the both Tulsa and osu can make sense.

He’s “the guy” do he’d get full open to make his name. At OU he’ll be in a system so maybe not “the guy”.

Just a thought

I can’t envision a scenario where he is a first round pick a year from now regardless of where he goes.

Good news coming in a couple days… don’t know how good. Trying to get a name.

"During his sophomore campaign at Navarro College in Texas, Mawein averaged 12.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game on 48.1 percent shooting from the field, 31.3 percent from beyond the arc and 70.2 percent from the free throw line. He surpassed the 20 point scoring mark in three games.

As a freshman in 2019-20, Mawein averaged 13.5 points and five rebounds per contest while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from three and 62.4 percent from the charity stripe. He scored 20 plus point in six games including a career high 31 against Panola on February 5, 2020."

and here is his hudl

Juan Patillo's probably a good comparable. Athletic, good hands, attacks the rim, does not have elite ball skills. He's a little taller than Patillo and a better shooter, but probably lacks a little of Juan's quickness.

Unreal coaching staff Moser has assembled! I like Patrick’s connections overseas. That might be a viable option to counter the local bagmen. Although bagmen are probably not constrained by players being overseas with the Xbox payments and such.

Future looks bright! Hopefully BT rounds this thing out!
